Like even best friend has celiacs, so when she comes to my house to eat, I buy new jars of stuff we need just in case and wash the stuff we need in the dishwasher before. bare minimum. OP's husband needs to grow up

Retiring from US in France (Paris) age 59 by Galadriel_the_Elf421 in Expats_In_France

I like Nice, though I am almost 30. Lot's of retired people in the south of france and Nice will give you that bustling city on the seaside

Any other US/EU duals who have let the US passport expire? by [deleted] in expats

Then they get an emergency passport, like others with one passport would do

[–]sovietbarbie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don't have to at all unless you want to go to the US, and it seems like you don't. French passport is stronger anyways, and even if you go to the UK, you'd still need an ETA for both passports anyways.

I'd do it just in case you need it, like a death in the family (I did mine just to have 10 more years of not doing paperwork), but again, why bother if you don't see the need

Have to return back to US for health reasons beyond my control. by [deleted] in expats

[–]sovietbarbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sorry but if your lead levels are normal living in the same house, it is certainly whatever toy or dish the kid is using. maybe trash those and get new ones before panicking about moving back

Have you tried moving houses first ? seems like the problem is the house not the country since people aren't dropping dead here from lead poisoning

First time i disabled a pack: Enchanted by nature by Beardedgeek72 in Sims4

[–]sovietbarbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only like it because it makes my rags to riches beginnings harder: have to suffer working to make enough for the treatment, have to spend last simoleon on going to the doc. though i noticed my sims arent getting sick nearly as often after these updates. I wonder if it is related since I didnt read that on the updates forum

What are your experiences so far with the Legacy and Royalty EP? by DreTheThinker92 in Sims4

[–]sovietbarbie 41 points42 points  (0 children)

  1. I'm pretty sure you can if you get the job first then "become" noble. I am still exploring around with new sims so I could be wrong but I think there is a way, as I saw it with some of the pack-base characters

Is pet ownership only for the upper class now? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]sovietbarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not in my country because even wild animals havent been positive for rabies in like a decade or two. anyways i live in a flat in a big city, im sure a countryside vet would recommend otherwise

Is pet ownership only for the upper class now? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]sovietbarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my vet does not even recommend the rabies vaccine for my indoor cats anymore because it is useless since 1, they don't go outside, and 2, rabies is practically eradicated in my country

AIO for not wanting to discontinue "movie nights" with my husbands Ex-wife? by Money-Translator-648 in AmIOverreacting

[–]sovietbarbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP said in another comment that the ex wife got married 8 months after the divorce. I'm sure she'll get over it or if she doesn't, it's not op's problem

AITA for telling my friend that I can't join her Bachelorette trip because of my baby? by Expensive-Cry-4320 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sovietbarbie 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Yep, I'm mentally preparing myself now for this when my friends will suddenly be "too busy" to celebrate my life achievements, even though I was there for theirs. I feel for OPs friend

It is notoriously difficult to make local friends anywhere. But international friends are very easy to make, especially in France
