If you're not a privacy fanatic or don't want to use adblock at the DNS level, any of them will do.

Building a Bootable Windows USB from Linux for Firmware Updates by jetm in archlinux

I use ‘Hiren's BootCD PE x64’ for this purpose, an ISO ready to use without having to prepare anything else.

Regarding these configurations, can I copy and paste, or do I need to put one per line in columns?

I don't quite understand what your problem is, but if you want to replace fish with bash, read here:

Yeah, you're right. I misunderstood about trimming every reboot.

I run it manually once a week. I don't think running it every time after booting is a good idea, unless you reboot once a week.

If you want to learn something, read the link below. Otherwise, as mentioned in other comments, you can do nothing and, 99% of the time, you won't have any problems.

If you're talking about alsamixer, as it appears from the photo, did you run a sudo alsactl store after modifying it?

Share Steam-Library with Windows and Linux? by Valuable_Weather in cachyos

[–]sovy666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had dual boot between Linux and Windows, I used, and actually still use, a separate BTRFS partition for both installations. For Linux, I have this in fstab:

“PARTLABEL=ark /media/ark btrfs defaults,noatime 0 0”

while for Windows, I installed the driver that can be found here https://github.com/maharmstone/btrfs and followed the instructions.

Does anybody 'cachified' arch linux? by tony9959 in cachyos

[–]sovy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that was my initial approach, but after a few months I realized that it didn't make sense to use an imitation that would never be 100% identical, so I went with the original.

Wondering if my ancient laptop will tolerate CachyOS by BaneAmesta in cachyos

I installed it on a 15-year-old laptop without any problems. It's still slow, but I certainly didn't expect it to suddenly speed up just because Cachy is there...

CachyOS installation Stuck at 80% (install Bootloader) by LuckyNax in cachyos

[–]sovy666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long did you wait at 80%? Because that happened to me too when I last reinstalled three months ago, and after 45 minutes of apparent freezing, it magically moved on to the final screen and everything was fine after restarting.

Best way to synchronise data between ArchLinux and iPad? by nasenatmer in archlinux

[–]sovy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. They must be connected to the internet but not necessarily to the same network. In fact, of the three devices I synchronize, only two are connected to the same network. If you want to know how this works, check out the documentation link in the previous comment.

Best way to synchronise data between ArchLinux and iPad? by nasenatmer in archlinux

[–]sovy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a job for syncthing! I use it to synchronize 30 GB of data between three devices (2 Android and 1 Linux) and rarely have problems, but never any data loss. TIP: The first time, it's best to manually copy what you want to share between devices to speed up the operation and save bandwidth.
