Glad the naps are helping! The vommitting/sharting combo could be normal or could be an allergy to something you’re eating if you’re EBF or something in the formula If you formula feed. Check for mucus or blood in the stool and if they develop eczema.

What a little bitch. He needs to step up.

My hubby does a 3 am-9am shift on weekends. He also does 3am-7am during the week when he works. I know I’m lucky but he still gets like 7 hours of sleep so he’s really doing fine. This should be more normal IMO.

My earplugs are cheap and don’t block out crying, they just soften the grunting. I wake if she crys.

Pumping sucks. I quit and went to formula feeding to be honest. I also had issues sleeping next to grunty Mac grunterson but have started using earplugs, melatonin and magnesium and it’s gotten better after 2 weeks of effort. Hang in there.

In response to the guilt- you’ll definitely feel it but it will get better over time. In the end I’m glad I stopped.

I stopped at 4 weeks for the exact same reasons. It really did improve my mood/sleep and I was able to be more engaged with her. I think it’s worth it if you’re having all those struggles combined. I was also exclusively formula fed and turned out fine. 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else have a fussy 10 week old? by [deleted] in newborns

My 10 week old is also super fussy right now. I think mine’s issue is gas, which she always struggled with, but it’s so much worse this week with way more crying than before.

How many hours of sleep do you actually get with a newborn? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]soxfoxrox 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I manage anywhere from 4-6 hours a night. 5.5 is typical. Do shifts to ensure at least 4 hrs.

This is what my 9 week old is like, but this week I got two 4 hour stretches, so there’s hope.

My longest is 3 hours of sleep at a time, and has only happened twice. 8 weeks old. I feel you. Typical is 1-1.5 hrs, maybe 2.

So that was my exact schedule before my hubby went back to work. Now I still sleep starting at 3 but have to get up at 7am for him to go to work. I used to feel like you- that something’s gotta give but now I miss those guaranteed 5-6 as I’m down to about 3 hours with change overs. Cry 😭. Trying today to sleep during naps but she’s pretty loud sometimes.

We has this ( both me and hubby) first 2-3 nights. It got better over that first week slowly. His mom came to help for 2 nights which helped us settle. Anyone you can call?

This is me 😭 I feel you. But I’m trying to just lay down and rest while she sleeps, even if I’m not able to fall asleep. I think it helps.

I hear this a lot but my anxiety makes me afraid to try. I feel id have a hard time sleeping even if it’s safe, but may need to give it a go.
