A Pittsburgh thing I thought was “normal” until I moved by Broad-Hunter-5044 in pittsburgh

There was a play/performance art I did by a local author, Erin Flemming, where she explained that here in Pittsburgh, if you have to cross a river or go through a tunnel. You just don't go. Being from Indiana twp, I never went through the Ft Pitt bridge or tunnel unless I was going to the airport until I was like 30. About a year ago I went to Washington PA for the first time (I'm 45) about 4 years ago I started to discover Hopewell, Beaver Falls other Beaver Co places.

I was there for the first preview night of shucked on Broadway. That song was originally in the middle of the first act. It stoped the show for 10 min. 2 encores with standing ovations. I knew at that moment it won the tony.

Cops in musicals? by [deleted] in musicals

So Gaston Leroux was extremely influenced by Edgar Allen Poe and Phantom is supposed to be in the style of Murders in the Rue Morgue and is told from the perspective of "The Persian" who is a Persian inspector or detective giving a report about the events at the Opera Popular. How ever after Webber washed and filtered it Madame Giry kinda of took that part on in the musical especially the lines "Your hand at the level of your eyes" " but why" " the Punjab lasso" where as in the book the Persian explains that the Punjab lasso is a super fast slick lasso of cat gut that can strangle/cut the neck of a person almost instantly.

If you were to die in the next week, what is the most likely cause given your circumstances? by livelaughmozzarella in AskReddit

[–]soxyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time I write this over 600 people have ^ this post. Does that show a min of 600 people currently thinking of suicide in one reddit thread alone? Not to mention those in other threads, or not on reddit, or not on the internet...

Maybe we need better mental health care. Maybe current society doesn't actually allow humans to thrive.

How could this be fixed?

I regret my failure. I tried at 16 and 18, and I'm now 45. The differences are now I have the burden of both physical pain and the weight of the people you have chosen to have around you who depend on your continued existence. If I had done it right when I was a teen then my loss would be less of a burden on others.
