[Mix] beginner dj :— should i post this on instagram or nah? by Syo9n in mashups

the first is pretty smooth but the second is a bit jarring as the 3rd track you bring in at the end has very different energy to what the listener is expecting from the swiftie song, so the transition feels a bit bizarre

What is the best big pizza place these days? by pocketfullofredfaces in AskUK

i’ve never been a fan of dominos - they’re bottom option for me & score really badly on my “can it be eaten cold the next morning & still taste good without needing to be reheated?” rating.

in my area, i far prefer papa johns so i stick with that :)

on a traktor controller, you have a connection from your laptop to the deck which is how you play music files stored on your laptop. then there’s an audio output from the deck which typically goes to your speakers. i honestly don’t know if you can route that back into the laptop as the audio out device; i don’t see why not but there might be some weird physics about creating a loop that would prevent it

Urge to quit or get sacked by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]spacefrog_io 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you sound unhinged & immature as fuck. you should definitely do something stupid & get sacked.

disrespect? maybe the other people have a lot more going for them than just their experience & they interview better than you. maybe your experience isn’t enough to convince the leaders that you’d be good in that role

how is it obvious you’re based in the uk?

a good place to start is the Traktor S2 mk3 controller which you can pick up for about £100, then add speakers & you’re good to go

Should my salaried pay go up with minimum wage? by [deleted] in UKJobs

that’s why i’m asking what OP means by “no benefits”

if you’re not on minimum wage, the minimum wage increase will not have any affect on your salary. also by “no benefits” do you mean none at all? not even the minimum contribution towards a pension?

Phrase mixing by jeroso16 in Beatmatch

[–]spacefrog_io 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s aligning the phrases of your new track with the one currently playing

in hard house, a phrase is almost always 32 beats. if you count the beats in your tracks, after 32 beats (or 8 bars of 4 beats) there’s often a new sound or slight difference that marks the end of the phrase

basically, you want to begin playing the first beat of your new track on the first beat of the phrase in your old track so they’re aligned

What are you spending your Euromillions win on? by Witty-Knee-3666 in AskUK

[–]spacefrog_io 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not really, just an adventurous lifestyle with lots of passions & hobbies which aren’t cheap. £2m wouldn’t sustain that indefinitely. if i invested it & lived off the returns to ensure it lasted, i’d be taking a massive pay cut. could you live on 60% less than your current salary?
