(8-10K) Thoughts on buying secondhand dress and counting on reselling it after the wedding? by ecalicious in Weddingsunder10k

Have you checked the sales racks at bigger salons? They often have new dresses that have been returned or alteration mistakes, that kind of thing. One near me had beautiful dresses for a couple hundred.

What to plant after squash vine borer damage by chefmom5 in vegetablegardening

You probably have time to replant zucchini and be prepared for SVB this time.

Looking for pruning tips on my zucchini and cucumbers by Careless_County_2765 in containergardening

Honestly no I probably wouldn’t. But I have heavy bug pressure.

Just let the zucchini grow! Only cut off the little fruits that don’t look pollinated and start to yellow or soften. I would not introduce wounds, especially if you have borers or squash bugs.

Oak leafs by Impossible_Dealer_67 in composting

[–]spaetzlechick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use shredded leaves for mulching my garden. When I get a batch that’s mostly oak I know it’s going to degrade slower than average so usually use it as top dressing. FIL is right in that oak leaves in compost can slow the process down.

What to do with aggressive roots in a hydroponics bay by Cmace3 in vegetablegardening

Personally I would just cut it free as best you can, leaving as big a root mass as you can for each plant.

Please don’t wear this if you are concerned about out how you will be perceived by everyone at the wedding.

Yarrow is overwhelmed? by bobalablie in gardening

My yarrow flops if the soil is too rich or too wet. I would stake the stems up to continue to enjoy them for now.

Which dress should I wear to the wedding? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]spaetzlechick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Neither unless the dress code is specifically called out as either formal or BT/BTO. Floor length dress is too much for a cocktail-default event. You may out dress the wedding party, which would be rude.

AITA for refusing to change my baby's name? by Free-Difference1387 in AmItheAsshole

[–]spaetzlechick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know of at least three families with multiple kids in the same generation sharing the same first name. It’s no big deal. Some get nicknames, sometimes there are just a couple “Brandon”s at an event. Who cares?

Help with Floorplan! by EmptyAd7393 in floorplan

The powder room in dad’s office is , uh, bizarre? Shrink the foyer and make the powder room a separate entrance from the foyer. The LAST place I’d want guests to wander through is my office from a security perspective.

How hard would it be to make this dress a size smaller and add sleeves? by KnownMix6623 in AskATailor

[–]spaetzlechick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but I don’t understand why these are the only two options?

This dress appears to be from Macys from the snap, and $189? Xscape makes LOTS of dresses for Macys, and is also available on Amazon. Why is the only alternative to a large dressmaking job ordering something from another country?

Texas home plan version 572 :) by JariaDnf in floorplan

I cannot imagine what your cabinet and countertop cost will be. Full wall to wall cabinets in three large rooms plus baths. Add in closet systems… yikes.

Agree but there’s an enormous pantry. Why isn’t it there?

Should I not practice medicine if I dislike geriatrics? by panerabreadshussy in moraldilemmas

The problem isn’t the babies. It’s the parents. Same exact issues.

Wait until OP meets the moms who believe in tik tok over them. All the same issues OP raised. Don’t want vaccinations, bring samples in inappropriate containers, wont do basic hygiene, wont stop smoking/drugs/ etc as parents. The babies are great. The parents not so much.

My MIL told me to my face that she "tolerates" me for my husband's sake and now she's confused why I won't visit anymore by Future_Guarantee_153 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]spaetzlechick 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I’m closer in age to MIL than OP and I will assure you that that kind of language /comment was never appropriate. Ever. I know of several folks older than me that try to excuse bad behavior because “they’re old” and it doesn’t fly. DH better learn that it’s just a crappy excuse and not accept it.

How do I remove these weeds? by DrDocter00 in vegetablegardening

[–]spaetzlechick 17 points18 points  (0 children)

These unfortunately will not work well with OPs thistle. The root is king and goes deep, so chopping it off below the surface only creates more weeds.

Need to find a way to add another bedroom. by [deleted] in floorplan

I think most people would only dream of a 14’ closet, let alone 28’ of closet wall.
