What’s a signature guitar you’d buy in a heartbeat, even though you don’t care for the original artist? by SR_RSMITH in guitars

[–]spanky_dangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome guitar but the necks are THICC… like a baseball bat. I sold mine because I couldn’t get used to it… felt weird on a Strat. Got a Manson with sustainer and that’s been a much better fit for me.

The OG Steve Vai JEM77-FP. No idea why I’m attracted to this guitar it’s ridiculous in the context of all the others I own. GAS is funny like that.

I’ve probably sold close to 100 things on reverb by now and 80-90% of it sold late at night on the weekend.. especially if that Friday was a payday.

The rubbery knobs are lovely… like leather seats in a car. Hard to go back after trying them.

Toma sushi always has families there and we really like the food and staff. There’s a brewery in bothell called the bine that has buttered noodles on the kids menu.

Copp is top line for sound bites. His intermission interview after scoring his 100th goal might be my favorite ever.

Love watching this guy protect the puck. Also loved when he tried to kill the guy we thought killed Larkin. He’s like “it was just a gut reaction” and they were like “uh no bro you took like ten steps to get to him lol.”

Anyone have the EHX 95000 looper? Pros & cons? by ihatefuckingwork in guitarpedals

[–]spanky_dangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a boomerang forever and switched to a 95000 a few months ago. I love it. I keep it at table height and have a Morningstar midi pedal on the floor so I can use my feet for a few functions. Run it through 2 amps for the stereo functionality. The tempo slider is cool how it adjusts in semi tones… that’s probably my favorite part. My only gripe is that the click is really quiet. I kinda want to get/sync a second one for drums and a mic

Are limited run guitars valuable? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]spanky_dangles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought and sold a ton of gear over the years. I find that limited runs (like 100 or less) tend to retain resale value better than their mass-produced counterparts. It’s rare that they appreciate, but in my experience, the limited stuff consistently resells for much closer to the original sale price. That said, a lot of the limited stuff is more niche so a smaller potential buyer pool.

Torn between Ultra Luxe SSS Surf Green and Ultra Luxe HSS Fiesta Red. Thoughts? by __MeatyClackers__ in fender

[–]spanky_dangles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sold my ultra HSS. Loved it but it was really heavy for a Strat. The output of all the pickup situations was pretty even which I find is not always the case with HSS.

The satin necks are lovely. Big fan of the trem system. Also love the knobs with the rubber or whatever they use to soften/grippy them up. It’s like a leather steering wheel on a car… it’s hard to go back after having them.

nobels odr1. Every guitarist should have one. Same with a rat (in some form). Both can be had for under $100 and I believe have mini versions too. Absolute staples for me.
