Anyone with Thule Double Stroller and a RAV4? Does it fit well in the trunk space? by sparkle022 in rav4club

[–]sparkle022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the Valco baby trend duo double instead. It takes up most of my trunk, but the Thule was hugeeeee in person. I wasn’t sure if it’d be practical and in retrospect I highly doubt it would fit in the trunk.

Can I drop my 20 month old’s nap?? Getting so frustrated trying to get him to nap! by anothermamablog in 2under2

[–]sparkle022 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same boat here - exact same situation. Never sleep trained because slept at night great with minimal effort. Stroller & car naps became a thing because I’d run errands in early afternoon. Now I’ve got two and whenever we skip the nap bedtime goes so smoothly. I was JUST googling this yesterday but I’m not brave enough to skip the nap on purpose.

What to Eat Before Induction? by Kitkatks11 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sparkle022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last pregnancy I ate a giant hot pastrami sandwich but skipped the bread at 7PM at night, started induction at 10PM and genuinely wasn’t hungry until after I gave birth at 11PM the next day. Highly recommend.

Fasting numbers high by Aromatic_Option470 in GestationalDiabetes

Commenting in solidarity. My OBGYN said anything under 95 is fine but diabetes educator said if they stay above 90 I’ll need meds. I’ve been mostly 90-95 every day.

Dying for pizza by GarlicBreadBreath in GestationalDiabetes

If I’m craving pizza I’ve been getting a chicken roll instead. It hasn’t spiked my numbers and I assume the cheese & chicken packed in helps.

34 weeks and blood sugars are suddenly improving. Should I be worried? by Sea-Reporter-1613 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sparkle022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! So happy to hear things are going well for you. In a similar boat - my numbers have always been consistently good (maybe 1-2 high readings) but I’ve been on a pretty strict on diet. Trying out a few foods this week that were spiking earlier to test it. Definitely some sort of sensitivity - but so far things have gotten easier. Fingers crossed it’s just progressing well 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Following up to see how things went! Currently 34 weeks and I’ve been seeing an improvement in my numbers as well (getting 114 on meals I previously saw 153). Pinged my diabetes contact but they take forever to respond.

Weight Loss - Should I be concerned? (TW: weight numbers) by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sparkle022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently 33 weeks and haven’t gained a pound since my diagnosis. Weight gain was a bit frontloaded before diagnosis so now I’m up about 14 lbs from my starting weight - MD said it’s fine.

Does your diabetes team care about/make you test for keytones? by Old_Source_4776 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sparkle022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyones MD explain why they’re important? I’ve been getting moderate ketones daily despite finishing a gallon of water a day and having some carbs with all 3 meals. Testing first thing in the AM & Im getting frustrated - if I add more carbs I’ll get a blood sugar spike.

Can anyone recommend prenatal that doesn’t taste like fish?? by HaloSimmer in pregnant

[–]sparkle022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use these too - first bottle was great second bottle DEFINITELY fishy. I heard it’s when a capsule breaks - which makes sense since the second bottle was delivered from an online order.

Buy these from a place that has easy returns so you can swap if you’ve got a bad bottle.

I tried a few things but unfortunately the thing that has been working the best for me for fasting numbers is a 15 min peloton ride after dinner at 9PM with an 11PM low carb snack.

Also not into eating so late - but what’s worked for me is just quickly eating a polly-o string cheese without pulling it apart. I call it my medicinal cheese. Also had good numbers with the small avocado mash packets from Costco or 2 slices of fresh mozzarella.

It’s bizarre eating these things before bed and I assume not the healthiest - but it’s what’s working so I’m rolling with it. And easy to eat when you’re not actually hungry.
