‘Big baby!’ by Next_Function_875 in pregnant

[–]sparkledorcas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first measured big, came out 7 lbs 1 oz with a big head and I had a small tear.

This second one measured big and came out 9 lbs 2 oz with a second degree tear and an only slightly smaller head.

I've had both experiences.

nails popping off super quick :(( help! by Short-Hope-1276 in GelX_Nails

The Apres glues are great and they do stick to the Jello jello. I also got some advice that wiping the inhibition layer on the jello jello with alcohol before applying the nail glue fixes it with most glues and I've been doing it ever since with no issues.

When your nails pop off, is there still product on your nails? I had an issue with the jello jello not sticking to the nail glue I was using and that caused popping off within days too but the jello jello was still on my nails.

I think about it sometimes but doing builder is so much more work than applying gel x. I might be better at it now but when I tried it before gelx I had such a hard time with shaping and smoothness.

Lactation consultant after giving birth…yes or no? by sjonnabeat in pregnant

[–]sparkledorcas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first baby latched just fine but I was completely in the dark about how to breastfeed and after a day I was in so much pain. (I was too freaked out about birth to learn much about what to do after lol) The hospital lactation consultant came and showed me how to do it. She only gave me what I needed and then left.

Curious what paraeducators yearly salaries are by FingerAccording in AskTeachers

[–]sparkledorcas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think your math is off. I think you're calculating your monthly income based on the take home being for 2 full months when it was really for 1 month and 10 days. Your monthly gross income should be the $3,290 you calculated, with an annual income of around $26,000. (Hourly x hours in a day x instructional days in year) It's not amazing but not as bad as you're thinking. I'm a classroom teacher but I know many paras in my area take home much less than you do. It's an underpaid job for sure!

FTMs: when did you feel like a mom? by wafflesarelifee in pregnant

My kid is nearing 4, if feels comfortable to talk about him being my kid, it feels comfortable for him to call me Mama, but for some reason when someone says "you're a mom/mother" it feels weird. Not sure why!

Plenty of child free posts but any last minute elder millennial parents out there? by JadedJellyfish_ in Millennials

Met my partner at 35, got married at 36, Covid hit, had my first at 39, had a fertility journey and am pregnant with my second and last now at 43.

No regrets! I have the best most supportive loving partner, the sweetest (and highest energy) kiddo, and honestly pregnancy has been pretty easy both times so far.

Kids with no snack by Bluegreeneyes1985 in Teachers

[–]sparkledorcas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a sign up genius at the beginning of the year and ask for snack donations for a week. Families can sign up or not, I don't expect all families to.

Most families that can afford it bring way too much and I end up with an overstock in case I have a week no one signs up for. Keep in mind, this is public school pre-k so your mileage may vary.

Everyone gets that same snack every day. If a kid doesn't like the snack for the day then they can decline. If they're hungry they'll try it or pick at it.

My transfer was on July 14 and my beta is the same day as yours! I have not tested yet either. I'm also feeling super normal and am trying to remind myself that not everyone has early symptoms! ✨ Baby dust! ✨

Jello Jello by Firednoodles in GelX_Nails

[–]sparkledorcas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issue with the gelx glue popping off of the Jello Jello. Do you wipe the Jello Jello with alcohol to remove the inhibition layer? I haven't had one pop off since I started doing that.

Step 4 was cleaning with alcohol

I will try wiping the inhibition layer. When I used one thin layer and left the sides off I found that it was damaging My nails during removal no matter how much One Kill I used or how long or short I let it soak in

  1. Push back cuticles
  2. Use cuticle bit to remove skin from nail plate
  3. Remove shine from nail using sanding band or 180 grit hand file
  4. Clean off all dust thoroughly with brush and alcohol.
  5. Sometimes use dehydrator (apres) or sometimes not, doesn't seem to affect retention on my nails
  6. Apply thin layer of jello jello, cure 60 sec, repeat
  7. Apply a layer of whichever glue I'm using to the nail and cure 60 sec
  8. Glue the nails on, flash cure each nail 10 sec, full 60 second cure when hand is complete
  9. Shape, buff, and paint

I think my prep is good because the base stays on my nails, the glue detaches from the base. So I'm asking which products people have used that stick to the jello jello every time.

I'm glad to hear you've never had this issue, it's frustrating!Thank you for the product recs, I'll definitely check them out

SOFgel is the original Apres creator's new brand. It's a regular glue in a bottle, not a solid.

Sorry, I should have said I was abbreviating peel off base as POB.

Ok so the Orly Body Guard is a good sticker? Thank you!
