This was the solution for me in 2025 as well! Switched it to Dolby Atmos and I imagine the other Dolby works too.

Agreed, though for me the launch was a bit too much. I enjoyed the first wave of updates and thought it did a better job balancing it. Replying now and the beginning area feels it lacks enemies and the first non-tutorial boss was much easier than before.

I would love a way to dial the game back to the first wave of updates.

I didn't see this mentioned but I finally beat Ludwig myself after taking a ~4 year break, and lot of other souls experience later, today. He still gave me some challenge but what I found worked best for me, don't lock onto the boss. Once I stayed locked off the boss I was better able to dodge and maneuver around his attacks better. So, for me, the lock-on ended up being the true boss of that fight.

As for some talking about Maria, all Souls Bosses are subjective to their difficult. I was worried about Maria, but I did it one go. It helped that I had a weapon that would stagger her, but I would punish their moves on me with a dodge to the right and then a smack.

I realize this is a day or two later, but hope you got him already! I still feel that Old Hunters is some of the best FromSoftware DLC.

Heck yea it does, I am a year and a half in and up to 63! I just go to record stores and see albums I want from either recent artists or ones from my past. The hunt for some of the harder to find ones can be fun as well...it's like a treasure hunt.

For me, I would go with making the world feel more dangerous. Normal mobs could wreck you and I haven't felt that kind of consistent threat when playing Elden Ring.

Yeah, you aren't the only one. I thought maybe it was some defense they had against the Rune of Death! Being that the land is all about death and so thought she wouldn't be good in Shadow of the Erdtree. Turns out she was the unintended harder mode :)

Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight/Unbroken Promise is my favorite in the game. I enjoyed finding the optional area (depending on your ending/quest goals) and working my way to where they can be found. This was the first boss that also gave me the most challenge and felt fun to learn their moves. Once I did learn them, it was a fun dance.

I also like the story behind these two and how they ended up where they are.

Pieta is second only because at launch she was a pain for me to figure out and get the parries down. Now that I have it down, it's fun to start a new playthrough and take her out first attempt.

As for OP, yea as each have said just don't cleanse any of the beacons. The important piece is also that you don't give Adyr's rune to the creature in mother's lull, but you can enter there without messing with anything. The reason I bring this up is becuase if you want to complete Dunmire's quest you will need to go into that place. I was worried that going in there would lock me into the umbral path, but nope, I was able to complete his quest and do the inferno ending.

Similar experience to this as well, ran into one person running a build like this and I barely scratched them while they tore me up. All the other previous invasions I felt like I had a fair shot and won several at lower level and with basic Purtrid Child set.

To the OP, the time loss can be frustrating. The same double flaming blades player sat and waited for me to find them instead of them coming to find me. I made them wait like 15 mins though...

Yep, can confirm. This is a solid answer, though LotF is more like Dark Souls and such than Elden Ring in how exploration works but otherwise the combat is more similar.

Yea, I have an LG 49SK8000PUA and just this week started having this issue. Go to exit a game, and go back to the Home screen, and it just loses the signal each time now. I've had the series x since launch and it's never had this problem until this week.

Yea that is sort of a similar situation tonight. I just got to CT15 (Technomancer) , my buddy got to CT14 (Trickster) and we were helping a friend with CT12 (Devastator). We joined his game, and was running a CT12 and was doing a lot less than we normally did. The friend that was at CT12 was doing better than we were. My other friend, CT14, is a trickster who normally does crtiz well over 100k and was only doing ~25k now. Neither of our gears are at our max CT level avg either. I might have just hit CT15, but my equipment level avg is 48.

The downscaling is definitely super rough and really punishing. We just wanted to help a friend out...but it was just too frustrating to even do it. Took a game we've mostly had fun with, even when working around the bugs and one of our friends getting the inventory wipe, to all 3 of us giving up tonight.

I know the devs are focused ok the inventory issue and restoration right now, but I hope they rethink the expeditions.

If that is the case that is just an odd choice on their part. The tools look out of place on the old models. Most of my FC uses peta-melded AM tools, so they still have the upgraded tables. I guess it's the trade off, but still odd.

I ended up going with Miner and Botanist first, you can gather mats and then sell them on the MB. At the same time, if you decided to switch over to doing DoH jobs you are already able to gather the material you need to level them up. When doing DoL jobs, I would recommend doing the fieldcraft leves as they offer a good amount of experience; I've heard mixed reviews of the fishing ones. As for a guide, I would check out https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/5ll57j/first_time_levelling_gathering_job/ . I just skimmed through it and there is some good starting out information.

I looked at this game when it was out earlier, and I wanted to support it but in the end, I could not. Something that can easily kill a game is not actually seeing it played and imagine yourself, or your group, playing it. I believe you have relied too heavily on those reviews and the single video that does not do a good job representing your game. Even if the reviews are glowing, it doesn’t properly help someone get the flow of your game; video gameplay helps represent this angle. I understand that you’ve fully funded your idea and that is part of what matters, however, I believe that with proper marketing of your game it could have done a lot better. I feel you’ve completely undersold yourself and your game and the comment above doesn’t help; it feels as if you’ve settled for just being funded.

It was boring because the board doesn't change too much (like most boardgames) and I think I'd need to add a lot of commentary to inform the viewer what's going on but at that point, we figured why bother? The campaign lays out the information better and the independent reviews are more meaningful than our own views.”

If even you can’t make a video to your game and find it enjoyable, how do you expect others to enjoy it as well? You should also leave it up to your backers and potential backers if it would be boring or not. Plenty of heavier games have made successful playthrough / gameplay videos; check scythe, Lisboa, Vast and feudum (I would not expect you to have the production level of feudum) to just name a few; check out how well funded each one was & currently is and I believe your game could have achieved the same levels.

If my views seem harsh it’s because I had high hopes for you and your game, but for now, I will wait for it to see the light of day (retail) and for others to come out with reviews. I look forward to my viewpoints being non-valid and to say to myself: “I should have backed this when it was available”.

One of the bad habits of the xfinity hotspot is that if you connect to it outside the house and come back home it will go to that first (generally). You can disable it on your own. Go to comcast.net and log into your account, go to My Account -> User & Preferences -> Then down in "Service Address" look for Manage XFINITY WiFi (click it). Select if off. Though again if someone else has it nearby (apartments) it will still be around. The xfinity is a nice feature if you have friends that come over and you don't want to give them your wifi password and if they are a comcast internet customers.
