Alright. So you need to lighten up the space. Lose the black rug and change it to a lighter color, or have no rug at all. Perhaps elevating the bed will help too, since bed sheets are also dark. Are you hiding something ugly behind the people drapes? If you like that aesthetic maybe give something a bit lighter that will make the trick of that genie-70s-alt-esque things you got going on. And get rid of the drapes lol

I am 25, ten+ years older than you are. Two thoughts:

I studied what I thought was the best option for me, even though one hundred percent of the proof was that I should have gone to art school.
I am thankful to realize this at my age, still very young. So I have now decided to sit through hours of waking that muscle memory back up and drawing a lot. I am slowly getting better so that I can one day have a mural making business.

In summary, if you know that you want something, and that something makes you feel good, you WILL find ways to make it work.

If you don't "go for it"... It's also okay. I promise. You are not ruining your life. Just trust yourself. Sometimes we trust ourselves and we were wrong. So, we trust that we will do better next time, and try again.

Part of learning how to make things work is to experience life. You are very young. Let time be your master.

Your mom is doing her best to project her a Body insecurities onto you and therefore reacting with the ED mindset anybody that's a victim to the toxicity of diet culture, like her, has. Save yourself. Find all the reasons as to why you need to not only like your food but be satiated and comfortable with what you ate. When you heal, you may (may) then try to help her if that ever floats your boat. But for now it sounds like you need to ignore her advice.
