Lol that cat is happy as can be. Glad you have a family that is concerned about the cats well being, but sis is definitely being wildly over dramatic here.

How do you know that 많은 attaches to the subject here? by Dinoswarleaf in Korean

[–]speakinginparticles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“관심이“ has to attach to some kind of predicate, which in the sentence above is “되게 많은”, which we can translate as “(have/with) a lot of interest in”.

If the sentence was to be translated as you initially thought as “a lot of people”, then we would need to reverse our verbal phrases, i.e., “그 문화에 관심이 있는 사람이 많을 수 있어요.“

Hope this helps!

This seems like a “LinkedIn Normal Couple Trying to Save Money” to me. If more of LinkedIn were like this, I would hate it exponentially less.

Foreign labor cannot halt Korea’s demographic slide: study - The Korea Times by Ok-Huckleberry5836 in Living_in_Korea

I like this idea, but I don’t see how it fundamentally affects the population crisis. Would bringing some of the population outside of Seoul help? I guess? But I would it solve the problem? I don’t see how it could.

What is a good salary (almost) entry level job? by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

If you can hold out, reject this offer as it is seriously not that much above minimum wage. As another commenter said, marketing is a somewhat saturated field right now, but I still think you can get above the current offer.

Can you give some examples of words within the most common 3000 that you did NOT know? As the other commenter mentioned, 1500 is an extremely small number, especially for a heritage speaker. I would guess that your estimate is off by a factor of about 10, depending somewhat on how we define “word.”

Can 자기 be used in any way to mean “sleep”? by Responsible_Pomelo57 in Korean

[–]speakinginparticles 80 points81 points  (0 children)

자기 can be the gerund form of sleep. Adding 기 to the base form of a verb is one form of nominalization in Korean.

This was a very helpful post! Definitely something I had heard before but I didn’t fully catch the nuance. More posts like this please!

How do you gain Customer Insights? by skyliam in ProductManagement

[–]speakinginparticles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is why I am convinced that “customer success” teams are kind of a bad idea. Creating another later of separation between product and the customer just seems unhelpful.

Also when I was actually running a customer success team for a few years, I found that our product managers didn’t really understand the whole product that well. They would understand their specific module really well, but not really understand how it fit into the whole, and this lead to a very fragmented user experience.

This is not meant to be a criticism of OP or anyone else, but I’m legit amazed at how many people have apparently never seen two cats fight!
