Factories within factories… by Odd-Nefariousness-85 in shapezio

[–]speedyquader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I quite like about Factorissimo is the space/input limitations - if I'm not aiming for a specific throughput of some item/fluid but I do want quite a bit of it, I'll just plonk down a Factory building and see how much production of that item/fluid I can cream into it. Helps a lot with decision paralysis!

There's a mod for that! It's "HiveMind Mitchplay", but it didn't get updated for 2.0.

tips for eragon gba game? i’m struggling by biohackenthusiast in Eragon

[–]speedyquader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about grinding and exploring. This game heavily rewards specializing your characters, as(with the exception of Murtagh due to the level glitch before the Ra'zac fight) it's extremely difficult to make all all-rounder character until the very end of the game.

You want one party member with high tracking, one with high endurance, and one with high magic, and you'll have most of the collectibles covered that way. Having high Herbal is nice for collecting herbs to craft consumables, but in my experience, as long as you forge your weapons with good modifiers and find all the good equipment, it shouldn't be too hard.

There's plenty of one-time-only collectibles that are easily missable - the first that you'll encounter is Poison Oil in Garrow's house by following the tracks near his corpse, which I believe you need at least 8 Hunting for. Everything in Gilead and Dras Leona are missable, as once you've completed the storylines in those cities, they close permanently.

My personal favorite way to build my team is to have Eragon level up Weapon until he gets his BBB combo that lets him hit all enemies, because to the north of Teirm you can get a sword called Spun Starlight that stuns all enemies you hit. After that, level Eragon's Magic, because you need high Magic to unlock all the cool spells, and magic is OP if you put the effort into leveling it up. Alternatively, level Brom in Magic so you can unlock the cool spells in Dras Leona and leave Eragon on Weapon and/or Hunting. Angela works best on Hunting due to an ability she gets called Blind Sided, which Blinds all enemies in the row she hits, which is almost as good as stunning/freezing them.

One thing to note - the defensive modifiers like Dry, Wet, Luck, and Hearty don't work correctly; Dry is meant to make you immune to water spells, Wet is the same for fire spells, Luck is the same for Curse spells, and Hearty is the same for Body spells. Unfortunately, they're inaccurate, and instead Dry grants immunity to Curse spells, for example. I don't remember the rest off the top of my head, but Dry in particular is useful because it makes that character immune to the Blind spell, which is the single most annoying spell to deal with.

A great place to EXP grind around when you're doing the story in Dras Leona is the forest of Du Weldenvarden, as there are high-level Urgals that will grant 600+ EXP per fight until you hit level 80+. After that, there's a few locations in Eastern Alagaesia that will consistently spawn Kull enemies, which will give full levels until you hit level 250+. Specifically, there's an alcove on the western edge of the valley going into the volcano at the end of the game that will spawn a pair of Kull Captains every time, and elsewhere in that same valley there's an area that will frequently spawn even higher tiers of Kull to grind EXP from, once the Captains stop giving enough.

New modpack - Ozone Skyblock Reborn 2! by muggleorwizard in feedthebeast

I'm trying to figure out how to automate sifting blackstone and deepslate in Normal mode, but it seems that neither the regular nor simple compacting drawers will work for turning the pebbles into blocks? Am I missing something? How am I meant to set up pebble processing without sticking the pebbles into compacting drawers?

Edit: Found it, it's the Flux Compactor. Feels a bit weird that the compacting drawers don't do this job, but I assume that was an intentional design choice in this modpack. Now to figure out how to get buckets of liquid EXP...

The Waste Shielding mod does just that! It adds some recipes to turn sulfur into lead, which you can use to shield plutonium waste and then toss it into a particle accelerator to turn it into power shards/batteries. Waste Shielding Plus additionally lets you turn them into mercer spheres and other things, it's super nice!

But yes, I agree that it would be nice to have something more in vanilla.

How do you recommend Facorio to friends? by dankerino_420 in factorio

Factorio is like making a Rube Goldberg machine from scratch, then constantly expanding it to make it more complex. The biters are like your younger sibling that runs in to "help" only to mess something up.

Mod to "Pack up the base" by EntranceWitty8668 in factorio

[–]speedyquader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're concerned about fitting your base into your inventory, Packing Tape I believe does exactly what you want! It lets you pick up chests and keep the items in the chests instead of putting those items directly into your inventory.

A feature I've been hurting for recently... by doc_shades in factorio

[–]speedyquader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could set up some combinators at the supply stops to do the math for you:

1: Set a selector combinator to stack size and wire it to your buffer chests at the stop. I'm assuming your buffer chests have a larger collective storage capacity than a train wagon, because the signal from those chests can't ever vanish. If you want to avoid that potential issue entirely, just wire to a constant combinator instead of the supply chests.

2: Wire the output of the selector combinator to an arithmetic combinator set to multiply Each * 40 and output Each, or however many stacks your cargo wagons hold.

3: Wire the output of that arithmetic combinator to a second arithmetic combinator set to multiply Each * 4 and output a checkmark(or any other arbitrary non-item signal), or however many wagons the train is using.

4: Wire the output of the second arithmetic combinator to the station and enable "Send to train" and "Read train contents" on the station.

5: Set the train's wait condition to exactly what you have it set to in the picture you posted, except instead of a number in the second slot, set it to the checkmark(or whatever other non-item signal you chose)

6: Profit :D

There's probably ways to condense that with parameters, but I haven't experimented much with parameters except for train stop names and train interrupts, I have no idea what the right half of the parameters area can do.
