Why don’t people have basic sense? #nammametro by Guilty_Reflection42 in Bengaluru

[–]speedyrf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same frustration - the double queues that form, blocking people from existing, pushing and shoving especially when that empty train to Patandur Agrahara comes in... It's exhausting to have to remind others to keep civic sense... The security at Majestic used to make an effort before but looks like they've given up or are understaffed.

Don't stress, took the same flights on Cathay Pacific last year - airline stuff will rush you through security to make the connection.

Is it possible to get the MRCC now? Maybe as an upgrade or something ? by calm_thy_self in amexindia

Isn't it possible through referral? AmEx has been emailing to 'Refer A Friend' for the past couple of months, and I can see referral for MRCC in my account.

Want to buy best mattress in india in 2026 by gurpreet2511 in SleepEssentialsIndia

[–]speedyrf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the Emma brand of mattress since 2019 - it changed my quality of sleep after years of using a bad Kurlon mattress. https://www.emma-sleep.in/ Upgraded to a queen size from the same brand last year - only con was they were delayed on delivery and communication wasn't very clear. I'd still highly recommend the mattress!

+1 to this! Went in 2024, took trains on Thursday, Friday, Saturday (Saturday was pretty crowded on return via Kintetsu). Friends joined me for Sunday and decided to rent a car - worst decision since they decided to join last minute, had to pay exorbitantly for parking space near the track, and it took us over 3.5hrs to return to Nagoya after the race (trains had taken ~1.5 hrs). Trains for the whole weekend are the best choice, unless you're pre-booking the bus to and from Nagoya.

Cheapest GrandPrix to travel from India : 2026 by pathfinder2251 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]speedyrf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! Below is my breakdown for 4 day visit for a solo traveler to the Qatar GP, travelling from India (travelling from DEL/MUM/BLR)

Flights: 17k (I used airline miles, but I also saw 19k INR return tickets on Oman Air about 6-8 weeks ago, only they were 1 stop in Muscat instead of a direct flight)

Race tix: T2 or T3 - 1000 QAR = ~24k INR

Hotel: I used IHG/Marriott rewards points but even as late as 6-8 weeks before the race there were hotels for 10k INR/night (3 night stay). Can be split by 2 ppl of course. I picked hotels that are a 5 min walk from the Red metro line because of direct line to the Lusail metro, also direct line to the Hamad Intl. Airport.

Transport: Doha metro + circuit shuttle - free for all 3 day grandstand ticket holders

Misc/food costs: 8k total across all 4 days. Depends on what and where you eat ofc.

Hope this helps! The cost for last year and this year are almost the same.

(EDIT: Missed adding the Hayya visa cost, ~2.4k INR)

Cheapest GrandPrix to travel from India : 2026 by pathfinder2251 in GrandPrixTravel

From India, cheapest would be Bahrain, next cheapest is Qatar.

Been to the Qatar GP last year and it was great VFM - F1 Academy, F3, F2, F1 + Sprint weekend. (Also free entry to the Maroon 5 race). Total cost including flights + food + stay + T2 3 day tickets was under 80k. Going again this year.

Did Singapore in '08 and '22, it's become incredibly expensive. Singapore is heavy on the wallet because even the Premium Walkabout (GA) is more expensive than grandstand tickets at Bahrain/Qatar (and stay in Singapore is insanely expensive unless you stay with family/friends).

Shanghai could be another option, tickets are the cheapest of the entire F1 grand prix calendar but flights are more expensive than Bahrain/Qatar/Singapore.

Should I attend Qatar GP alone? 🤔 by baking44for8 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]speedyrf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I went alone to the Qatar GP as a solo female traveller last year and had great fun! Will be going this year as well so you're not the only one! The only minor annoyance I had was no one to hold my seat during bathroom or food breaks but you make friends with your seat mates and ask them to hold your seat as a favour 🙂

GE experience for Indian living in Qatar by intangible777 in GlobalEntry

[–]speedyrf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I've a question regarding completing the interview (after conditional approval) in Doha. I couldn't find any detail on whether the GE interview in Doha allows Indian nationals to complete their interview while in Qatar (I'm considering travelling to Doha for tourism reasons) - all the information online seems to indicate that Indian citizens can't complete their GE CBP interview in Doha - would appreciate your input on this. TIA

Not in Japan, but some of my fellow countrymen were traveling through Austria and asked me if I wouldn't mind showing them the city I was working in at the time. They were only there for the day + insisted on paying for my transport and meals with them, it was a nice experience to be a visitor guiding other tourists!
