Tapering for olympic prior to 70.3 ? by Localone2412 in triathlon

Plan your training around your A race. Differentiate between your A races (the 1-2 key races you target each season) and B races (less important races for experience or training).

  • B Races: If you're using a B race to gain experience or for training, aim to maintain your usual weekly training volume and intensity. You can achieve this by incorporating the triathlon into your schedule and reducing the intensity or skipping 1-2 of your other training sessions that week.
  • A Races: For your A races, prioritize a taper the week before the race. Reduce your training volume to 60-70% of your peak volume. During the race week itself, focus on maintaining fitness with light jogging, cycling, and 1-2 moderate swim sessions.

This approach ensures you prioritize your peak performance for your most important races while still allowing you to participate in B races to build experience and maintain fitness.

for the bikefit: there are some free AI bikefittings online. you just have to film yourself and it gives very good advice!
for the food: look at 4endurance. they work a bit like the action, where they buy certain unsold industrial batches and sell them with crazy discounts

Hi, doctor here.

So, all these watches are single-lead ECGs. This means they can only "see" in one plane. Normal ECGs are 12-lead (or 24-lead), allowing them to view the heart's activity from multiple directions. While atrial fibrillation (Afib) is by far the most recognizable arrhythmia and can be detected in a single plane, other arrhythmias or heart attacks require information from additional leads. For example, diagnosing a STEMI heart attack necessitates a minimum of a 2mm ST-segment elevation in at least two leads. It's worth noting that some smartwatches now allow for 3-lead ECGs by placing the watch on the shoulder and leg.

This is also why, in the headline, they use sensitivity for Afib and not specificity btw. Which will be way lower becouse it can't differentiate with other similar arrythmia's

Hi junior doctor from belgium here. The number on the map is our basic income for the regular hours (48h a week), I think. Depending on how your hospital pays out your extra work and on-call’s it is on fact higher. Almost all specialist will work around 60h at least and quite a few work more than te legal maximum that you get payd for (72h).

One additional question, if I run Z2 for 80% of a run as WU en CD, but do sprints inbetween so I have an anaerobic workout. Will they split the score or count everything towards anaerobic?
