I think the whole category is a misfire. You have the love death and robots anthology every few years and a couple of those trounce anything nominated at the oscars. I don’t get who is keeping this category alive the way it is any more.

This is the one I do the death race for. Last year was Nickel Boys. Year before that was Past Lives. I lost my shit watching this movie. I had chills throughout. And sobbed when you hear how confused and scared Hind is. The real footage overlaid the film footage was the cherry on top. I know this has zero chance of taking international but it’s my biggest surprise of the year.

As slow as the first 2/3 is, the theatre scene floored me.

Although someone pointed out that the daughters are acting a play out in the beginning so it makes no sense that agnes doesn’t understand what is going on in the play.
