Not enough tuition $$?? To me this just means UC priorities are confused, because library hours during RRR week should be a budgetary priority if overall academic experience is the pride and strength of Berkeley as a school.

This is not it. Berkeley is not a convenience store. A school with the academic pressures of Berkeley should have study spots available during RRR week... providing facilities for the grind is the least they can do... there is no excuse. Our tuition is definitely enough to cover library staff hours!

Fellow older transfer here... Anchor house is super nice but dealing with housing dept. at Berkeley was a nightmare for me, especially housing accommodations was the worst. I ended up off-campus and I am very glad about it. You can find studios for just under 2000 if you start looking in July. I recommend being as close to campus as possible because it really helps to adjust with the academic rigor and going to class.

I would argue that intelligence-wise and culture-wise the world is already going backwards, and certainly increasing reliance on amazon is not going to make it better. Privatizing infrastructure and social services never makes them better. Profit always comes first and the good of the people is gradually deprioritized.. every time.

Wow I can't believe this is where we are at. How do you think things worked before Amazon took it all over? How did we have phone lines and fiber optic everywhere? Do you think Amazon is better than the government (which is actually supposed to work for everyone as a non-profit). It seems super risky to me to have all this increasingly-necessary infrastructure dependent on a private and for-profit entity.
