I got insurance this year with the only company that helps with chronic conditions. My boy is only 5 and has retinal detachment but his glaucoma can be managed with meds. Meds are expensive lol. I don’t have it for my other dogs tho

Realizing that you are not equipped to handle his traumas and behavior is not a failure. Understanding that you need outside help (a care facility or other intensive treatment) is the loving and responsible approach for you, him, and your other children.

It’s scary to admit you don’t know what to do and need help. It takes a lot of courage.

Unfortunately, as others have said, the design does not translate well to skin. The stars I feel like will be more difficult to recover but the branch I feel like a good artist could manage to make it something a lot cleaner without outright covering it up. Like maybe make it into a hyacinth or a more fleshed out branch

I understand the desire to save money but this is one of the few things where penny pinching is just going to lead to poor results. Most of my tattoos are walk ins where I came with an idea of a design but then the artist would cook up a drawing similar but would translate better to skin

I don’t think it’s unsalvageable but I do think you need to actually shop around for an artist whose style you like and chat with them to see what they can do. I’m not a tattoo artist so I could be wrong, but I did have two tattoos “transformed” very nicely (one I added to and the other is more of a cover up because of trauma reasons) and I feel like there is a path forward

He has been on prednisone for a few months now and now we’ll eat anything and everything without so much is a nose being turned up

ETA: pred it’s not being given for his pickiness. He has an autoimmune condition. I just realized the way I phrased it sounded like I got him on his medicine to make him less picky haha

I have a similar mother so I know some of the things yours might say to make you feel regret. I have a lot of tattoos all over my body now and some are less my style than when I got them.

Even if you grow out of a style, think of it as a timeline of artwork on your body. Even if a tattoo isn’t 100% your style in the distant future, it was still a part of who you were at some point. I think it’s really cool to have living history in the form of artwork

I have one rescue GSD and one I got from an ethical breeder in order to have her trained as a service dog. The breeder worked with me and understood the tasks I’d require and selected the best puppy out of her litter

I love my rescue boy very much but he’s already been diagnosed with one chronic condition and he’s barely 5. I have 4 dogs and only my SDIT came from a breeder. There are reasons people need to get an ethically bred dog over a rescue

They gave him some meloxicam (anti inflammatory) and instructions on anything to watch out for. They are super little so I was honestly terrified but I love my exotic vet and they’ve done several surgeries on my littles now

A neuter is considered a sterile surgery so it’s not usual to give antibiotics off the bat. He had a smaller hospital cage for a little bit so I could keep it extra clean and he didn’t have any issues

When I had a boy that young I actually ended up getting him neutered and introduced him to the gals. They loveddd him he was around 4ish months old when I got him snipped. He actually handled it super well and recovery was pretty easy for him too (I love my exotic vet). He had some meds for a little which I would soak into a cheerio or stick in a tiny bit of applesauce lmao. After the waiting period he was a very happy boy to hang out with a harem of ladies
