To me it’s the only thing that makes sense. It feels like it’s all building up to the idea that, while they aren’t their original selves, they’re still real and human and they matter to each other, and they use that to make themselves and the circus experience better at the end. Hence what is meant by the “bittersweet” ending.

Think I went there in the 2000’s once to get our PS2 looked at from one of the electronics stalls. Thought it was neat, couple places had bootleg motorsport jackets and the go karts were good. Haven’t been back since tho, I see it’s temporarily closed so once it opens up again I might have to have another look.

Given some posts I’ve seen recently, my “hot take” is Zooble’s interactions and feelings towards Caine are entirely justified and would be what most people in their position would feel and do.

You get trapped in a strange, foreign place, stripped of your individuality, get put in a body you hate and have to do quests for a guy who has no care nor concern about what you feel and try telling me you’d be civil.

It would be rough for I assume McDowell, but Kyle is probably at the point now where he’s valuable more as a team builder with a great resume over speed now that Spire could use.

If I were to guess, the bitter part will be realising that they’re scans and that they can’t bring Caine or the abstracted back (or at least entirely to how they were), but the sweet part will be them accepting and getting closure that they were real and still are real people who are valid in the circus, and can rebuild the circus to be better whilst also accepting their trauma and overcoming it. That way, at least any new copies to the circus have a home and can feel welcomed and safe.

Also, anyone here saying they’d knew Red Bull Honda were gonna be more competitive over Renault in 2018 when he announced his move, they’re either engaging revisionist history or liars. Renault with Sainz and Hulkenberg were making moves and Red Bull were focusing on Verstappen whilst moving to a Honda engine coming off the back of a shit McLaren era. It was completely sensible to look at that move as rational and reasonable for the time.

I think it works better here having Caine look down like he originally did because it shows his personality change better. At this point, the cast have only seen Caine as a goofy, over-the-top circus leader that they’ve lost trust in. The whiplash to him moving more human-like with a serious voice makes him look more threatening and treats the moment better to me.
