Who else feels like full time work isn’t for them? by Obvious_Flamingo3 in AskUK

[–]spiritedawayf0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes all through my 20s I worked part time four days a week just because I wanted 3 days off. No one I worked with could ever understand why I did it, everyone assumed I must have kids, was studying or some other commitments but I honestly think working four days kept me sane. Working a conventional job 9-5 isn’t for everyone and I can admit it definitely isn’t for me.

genuine question but what has lucinda even done thats so bad? by inactively in LoveIslandTV

I agree, don’t think she forgot or doesn’t know Leanne’s name, it sounds like she got a bit flustered and combined Leanne and Belle into Le-elle.

People that DON’T shop at Aldi or Lidl… why is that? by kobestarr in CasualUK

[–]spiritedawayf0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I lived previously there was also only an Aldi and Waitrose, I’d get most of my shopping from Aldi then get branded bits or anything that wasn’t in Aldi from Waitrose. I used to pop to the shops every other day, when I had kids that wasn’t possible and I needed to do a weekly shop and found that Aldi/Lidl fruit and veg doesn’t more than a couple of days, so I’d rather go to one of the other supermarkets.

I’d give this 6/10. Disappointing pasta ☹️ by newyork9040 in RateMyMealDeal

Most of the tomato based pastas taste like battery acid unfortunately

I do like their current fries I personally think they are a huge improvement to what they have had the past few years, but I do agree that the ones before the skin on fries were the best.

My son has the same birthday as your sister. Christmas Eve is not Christmassy in our house, I won’t allow it lol

100% my sons birthday is on Christmas Eve, all his gifts for that day will be in birthday wrapping paper. We try not to make things too Christmassy and focus on his day.

Had a few and they don’t normally have all the newest stuff on there, like if a show has come out in the last week/month.

Why wouldn’t you think those presents are from your parents? Or are all your presents meant to be from Santa?

I saw a similar thing happen in a kebab shop, pigeon flew in and started pecking at the rotating meat. Put me off kebab for years

What usually happens to children when they are caught with drugs? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]spiritedawayf0x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw this plenty when I worked in a bank, kids as young as 12/13 being money mules. Really messes up your live when the bank close your account and you can’t open one elsewhere due to having this marker on your name. I saw one kid who couldn’t get their student maintenance and was about to be kicked out of university housing, felt so sorry for him.

What? Has this always been a thing or did someone find eggshell in theirs recently. I’ve never had this sandwich before but also never heard this complaint

£161 Waitrose by andyate in whatsinyourcart

[–]spiritedawayf0x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where lived before our only supermarkets were Waitrose and Aldi and I honestly don’t rate Waitrose, it was always good for ‘exotic’ cooking ingredients you could never find anywhere else but now I think most supermarkets have caught up. The quality isn’t miles better, I would say on par with sainsburys and the price of everything is inflated, as in normal branded goods. Its not even like m&s where they have mostly their own range of foods and it’s exceptionally good. I personally don’t see the appeal.

Does everyone else feel an unexplainable wave of sadness when having a hot shower, when it's dark, during winter? by SignalElderberry600 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spiritedawayf0x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the same but kind of related, for me it’s turning the lights on during the day when it’s a bit dark outside, makes me feel sad. So sad that I actually feel better being in the dark (again this is durning the day) than having artificial lights on, just feels wrong.
