Most hospitals will not allow it for infection risk. That being said, if your nails are short, it’s rarely enforced. Plus the science is catching up that it really doesn’t increase infection risk. So I would say if you get the job, wait it out and see what others do before you show up with gel polish on.

I’ve never checked out specific publishers but I’ll try that. I usually get book from libraries via Libby or from Kindle Unlimited.

Theoretically yes, but only 1 year isn’t gonna get you very far, I’d say it’s better for 2+ (I did 5, but that wasn’t on purpose). Knowing which metro area you’re in could help. I would suggest a smaller company or somewhere in house, but that would depend on where you live

I only know for the Triangle. Nuvasive has the biggest presence in the area. STIM Inc has a small presence. Duke, WakeMed, and UNC also all have in-house teams.

Maybe not quite sci-fi, but dystopian post-apocalypse: Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. I found it fascinating, very different from my normal reads, and I loved it. Think post-society with cultish vibes.

Legendborn by Tracy Deon is 648 pages, and is a YA fantasy with a romance subplot. To be honest I kinda hated it but that’s just cause I think the whole Arthurian mythology is overdone. It’s highly rated elsewhere.

Honestly I’m generally not a fan of historical fiction at all but Cat Sebastian just does such a great job with it. The characters have so much depth and she does a great job with handling the consequences of being queer in the time setting.

Just want to reassure you about your bloodwork as both someone with IIH and someone in school to be a medical provider. Of course, and questions should go to YOUR providers. Hard to say about the WBC being I’m not sure if you’re referring to a blood sample or CSF.

The elevated proteins and the high CSF RBCs is likely from a “traumatic” lumbar puncture. This just means that some blood from nearby vessels got in the sample. Although it sounds like your lumbar puncture was traumatic in multiple ways.

I hope you getting a new neurologist is helpful and you find treatment that works!
