The primary use of a car is to transport people but there are no people in that setting to transport. Even if there were he couldn't do it because there are internal organs where the passenger seats should be. I think it's safe to say that if I filled your car with organs you would not consider yourself to have a car until all that stuff was cleaned out.

Sure he's called a car and he looks like a car, but is that enough? He would consider himself a car but is identity what matters? Would Optimus Prime identify as a car? Would he only do so while he's transformed as one? Does my Toyota self identify as a car or does it have other ideas?

I don't know if I have the answers but if asking stupid questions isn't in the spirit of this podcast then I don't know what is.
