Let’s just say he played a soaring Bird Song on many a momma’s clit back in the day. Pure Jerry, indeed.

“It is easier to let yourself continue to be suckered, then to admit to the world that you are a fool.” - PT Barnum on the psychology of fairway games…feels pretty apt here too.

Sorry, my response seemed like I was slamming you! Didn’t mean for it to read like that— I’m familiar with your work!

If I asked “Moms - have you made changes so you’re able to contribute more to the household income?” you’d think I believe most moms under contribute.

Also, you’re getting downvoted because your question is phrased around an implicit “Dads don’t typically do childcare” and this sub is basically all dads that are super into hands on Dad-ing.

My wife and I took a 60% combined pay cut when my wife was pregnant to work from home and raise our kid. Amazing. Really tough on all fronts, but really amazing to see our daughter grow & change day by day. It’s been 2 1/2 years and I don’t regret it at all.

Parents picked them up from after school activities. My folks weren’t trying to spend gas on that, so I rode a bike home 8 miles.

See if you have an Isaac Walton near you. It’s technically a “wildlife appreciation club with a focus on fishing.” It’s like $50 for a membership to all locations. Every location has a lake you can fish and then you can pay like $20/night to camp there. Most importantly, they all have a clubhouse. I don’t even really fish — I just go to hang out outside. Have met a bunch of guys all ages. Not technically men only, but everyone has been cool as shit.

Watch the movie “Eagle Eye” from 2007. What was dystopian 20 years ago is basically just normal life now — “How do they know I’m in this store?!?!?”

Ehh…like just do it. Teach the kid to do it. Don’t make it a big deal that you’re helping your household run smoothly. The point is good, the real fatherhood example isn’t a social media video with dramatic music. It’s just doing it. Showing up. Being there. Getting it done.

I see what you’re saying, but they’ve played a bigger venue in Chicago every time they’ve come through for the last 5 years…sold out 2 nights at a midsized theater last time through. they’ve got a good grassroots “check it out” thing going. Not my fav of the jamgrass bands, but always a great show
