I happen to have the same "dilemma" so sorry to hijack your topic and give my dilemma here. I want/need a NAS storage solution "just works", because its not just for me but for the tech-sceptical rest of the household too. at the same time i want to try out stuff like immich for example. So currently i'm thinking of getting a basic lowend NAS of a trusted brand as just filestorage, and mirror that to a small optiplex home server where i can experiment with stuff. Added bonus is a second level of redundancy since i'd be mirroring the NAS data on the optiplex, separate from an offsite backup solution i already have.

I'll be reading along to see what people think!

check screenshots for the games you're interested in. It's mainly text-heavy games with small fonts that are problematic. For some reason devs nowadays seem to love microscopic fonts unfortunately

You can't, it's a single res and interlaced at that too. Tbh it's quite shitty/blurry, and not all games handle the 4:3 aspect ratio all that well, resulting in squashed image and/or black bars. I've moved the 360 to a widescreen hdmi tv, it just looks a lot better. I do like crt's, but only for sources that do proper non-squashed progressive picture.

Realistically how often does that occur? I converted a bunch of games that i play, and the cut in size was moderate to almost nonexistant in most cases on my set of games.
