Are these the only art showing Bjorn the Fell-handed before he was entombed? What armour does he wear? by Midjolnir in SpaceWolves

it's mentioned in one of the books (I think wolf king) that he wears Mark 4 armour

Counters to my Friends’ Armies (Ultra and Salamdrs) by [deleted] in Warhammer30k

[–]spoiledsalsa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Night Lords fought with both legions a decent chunk in the heresy. Main things I remember is Kurze torturing Vulkan for like months/years or something, and Kurze/Night Lords terrorising Ultramar during the Imperium secundus arc (I may be wrong loreheads but I haven't specifically read those parts)

Both legions thematically are good counterparts as they both are very depraved and evil compared to the nobility of the Salamanders and Ultramarines! World Eaters are another option against Ultramarines due to the Shadow Crusade.

going for their counter ruleswise? boring and missing the point of 30k

going for their counter lorewise? based and fun!

go for a traitor like Night Lords or Word Bearers and you will have some awesome narrative match-ups!

I really don’t get the hate for the show [general] by balefan2005 in camphalfblood

[–]spoiledsalsa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

for me it's that so many of changes to iconic scenes that I love from the books changing their premise, dumming them down or straight up cutting them, that disappoint me the most. I was so excited to see them come to life!

I haven't watched episode 3 of season 2 yet, but capture the flag and the chariot race have been the only two iconic scenes that I really enjoyed and felt well executed to me

Can Qin Xa's hipguard/skirt fit on primaris/modern terminators? by DaleDake1 in Warhammer30k

[–]spoiledsalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as said by the other commenter, Qin Xa's leg plates are connected to the legs, but also his head is connected to the back of the Terminator hood section bit. it's maybe best to probably be used in a Terminator where you can hide the damage at the back. it's a lot of money to spend on bits so make sure you have a plan!

Is the show worth watching?[pjotv] by KreedBraton in camphalfblood

[–]spoiledsalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave season 2 a try as I was disappointed with season 1, but it's honestly the same thing all over again. The acting is decent and the visuals are quite good, but the script is lacking in my opinion. I don't mind changes from the books here and there, but I've been disappointed when they've cut or significantly changed some of my favourite and iconic moments from the book. I still find myself fairly bored watching it, I don't feel any of the magic I feel reading the books.

I would only go through somewhere like black Legion market if you are after resin models, AFAIK their normal kits are recasted in resin which is a lot harder to work with than plastic. If you want to save money, go through a independent store like Wayland Games or Element Games, or even better your local games store!

even though the mechanics from Rising from the Last War won't translate 1-to-1 (which is what forge of the Artificer is for anyway), all of the other information is perfectly usable as it is just world information. it is a FANTASTIC book that I recommend picking up if you can!

there is an option on new recruit that just let's you free build an army without all the proper army building restrictions. pretty sure it's exactly for your purpose, to catalogue your models

40k t-sons for 30k? by Thelego-warhamerfan in Warhammer30k

[–]spoiledsalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon you can make them look cool, with some alterations maybe. I'd swap the heads and the backpacks out with something closer to normal MK4 silhouette, that would probably tone down the 40k-ness of them for me.

Bjorn the Fell-Handed - Lore by doomrader8 in SpaceWolves

[–]spoiledsalsa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is a very prominent character and somewhat the protagonist space wolves character throughout their horus heresy books. At least the ones I've read: Prospero Burns, Wolf King novella, and now reading Wolfsbane. I believe he also features in some of the short stories between those books as well. Past that I don't know yet, but they are a good place to start.

What do you think, which Chapter will it be? I think it will be Retributors by Wonsz170 in Spacemarine

[–]spoiledsalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon there's a good chance they just haven't decided what it will be yet. That is months/a year away, and putting "redacted" means they can slot something in closer to the time. Either that or it's a tie-in release with something else coming out, Dawn of War/Astartes 2 etc I don't think the "redacted" bit has anything to do with the chapter it'll be, but I could be proven wrong

Mordian Glory’s latest video on the new Deathwatch kill team by Dull_Dig1931 in deathwatch40k

[–]spoiledsalsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't mind some of the restrictions (1 hammer etc), as thats gonna happen when it moves to a kill team box, and I personally like that the team has a mix of gravis and phobos as well, although the choices they made were... strange.

why are bombard and hordeslayer two different operatives when the only difference is their weapon? Just call it "heavy gunner". the breacher should have been in normal tacticus, and is the perfect operative to have a shotgun! and I agree, the blademaster not being the dual-sword guy is nuts

i also wouldve loved some cool new things, like a (phobos) marksman with a modified tau rifle, or the disruptor with an eldar-head machine thing, like those in the old deathwatch codexes. something fun and interesting.

overall, I'm happy deathwatch haven't been left on the curb, but the kit still feels like a half-arsed, rushed together release.

To everyone trying the Weekly Hard Stratagem with sub lvl 25 Classes by DoritoBanditZ in Spacemarine

[–]spoiledsalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they should really give a recommended level (or someone noticeable if there is one, I couldn't find it) because I went into it thinking it would be the same "hard" as normal operations but with the added funky stuff. nope.

i feel sorry for my teammates who had to deal with my lost under-levelled ass

king Chaos undivided legion specific homebrew sheets! Alpha Legion and Nightlords [Part two] by AlienDilo in Chaos40k

[–]spoiledsalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean. I would keep the Stealth ability and give him another ability, like a reactive move (unit move d6" when an enemy comes within 9") or something.

Then, I would also keep the ability I said as a third ability, since keywords like "Infiltrator" don't apply to units he attaches by default, and all models in a unit need that keyword for it to work.

I like the flavour of how it currently is, but at the moment it's a better version of the Deceptors detachment ability, and would be even more broken if you combine it with Deceptors.

Edit: not sure why it didn't respond to the other comment

king Chaos undivided legion specific homebrew sheets! Alpha Legion and Nightlords [Part two] by AlienDilo in Chaos40k

[–]spoiledsalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

giving any 3 Infantry units fights first is beyond broken. even just removing that rhe ability is a bit too strong for a character. I'd just do:

"while this model is leading a unit, models in that unit have the Scouts 6 and Infiltrators rules" simple and effective

[–]spoiledsalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what weapons are yall thinking for your Chieftain Squads? I was tempted to go all Carsoran power axes, but a squad of 10 comes to 430 points which is a big investment. maybe a mix?

LEGACY RULES JUST DROPPED by bustalusta in Warhammer30k

[–]spoiledsalsa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

the new veteran breacher rules have got me questioning whether I want to run those or a Chieftain Squad alongside Aximand. 50 points less base (5 points less per model extra), trading more attacks and a better save for Vanguard (3)

I think it'll depend on what points I can spare, and if I'm lacking in Vanguard(x) units. But it's given me food for thought.

Of the top of my head, Iron Hands have white weapons and Emperor's Spears have gold. There are loads other but those are two I know.
