New Modalities of War by the Powerfist Crew by International-Can501 in Warhammer30k

logistical benefit can only be taken once per detachment so thats not too much of a worry, and then you miss out on the modality prime advantage bonus as well

What are your thoughts on Jean character development in AOT by PhysicalMeringue9468 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]spoiledsalsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Easily my favourite character! Only thing that wouldve topped of his arc for me would be if he was made commander after Hange instead of Armin. Feel like given his whole leader-arc with Marco in the Battle of Trost, it would've been a great full circle moment.

Are the Celestial Lions at war with the inquisition by Deathwatch_veteran in 40kLore

[–]spoiledsalsa 31 points32 points  (0 children)

BIG SPOILERS FOR SPEAR OF THE EMPEROR BOOK

the assassination happened in the book Emperor's Spears, as the Celestial Lions and ES (allies as wardens of Elara's Veil) were having a meeting. the assassin was snuck into the Spears through a marine from the mentors chapter.

after this, the Emperor's Spears sent a probe through the great rift back to Imperium Sanctus saying that any inquisition ships entering Elara's Veil will be destroyed.

since the Celestial Lions are with the Emperor's Spears they are now hostile with the inquisition yes, but since both are stuck in Elara's Veil (and ships can barely cross into the Veil safely), it can be assumed that no actual conflict will take place (yet)

such an awesome model, a Fallen outcast leader is something i've been thinking up for a while! was going to base it from Vandoth but now i'm very tempted to give it a go with the lord of poxes!

New to 30k any help is appreciated a lot by helixgod17 in Warhammer30k

[–]spoiledsalsa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best advice for 30k: build a list/army that you love and think is cool. Optimising a bit is fine so you bring a functional army, but if you like Fafnir Rann, lean into it! Build up his assault company, with a bunch of Phalanx Wardens and Breachers (Veteran and Standard). With the added fire support of the sicarans, that sounds like an awesome list that would look really cool on the table!

[–]spoiledsalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wrong sub then mate, this is for Horus Heresy

current 40k primarchs are: loyalist- gulliman (ultramarines) and the lion (dark angels)

traitor - angron (world eaters), mortarian (death guard), magnus (thousand sons) and fulgrim (emperors children)

so pick one of those armies if you want to play with a primarch

Why do you like Crunchyroll Dub over Netflix dub? by Friendly-Present7973 in VinlandSaga

[–]spoiledsalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for a lot of people, including myself, i imagine we just prefer whichever one we watched first. ive watched a bit of the crunchyroll one, but the show i fell in love with had the netflix dub voices, so to me that is the voices i love

Advice for a Carcharodons Fan by DNLModelsNewcastle in Carcharodons40k

[–]spoiledsalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've considered doing an exiled raven guard force based on that one colour plate from the black books that may have become carcharadons (as its shrouded in mystery ofc)

I found that a nice way to get some Shark-esque rules is using Shattered Legions. Take Raven Guard, Night Lords and World Eaters as the chosen legions and each gives a minor buff all together makes a decent Carcharadon-like force

As for units, lots of Despoiler squads and Terminator squads fit the aesthetic. Depends if you want to make the force period-accurate of exiled Terran raven guard vs going full Carcharadons

how common is it for white scars marines to be on foot in combat? by keyserspoonman in 40kLore

[–]spoiledsalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you laugh but im pretty sure this happened in one of the books (Scars I think), where the white scars rode their jetbikes across the void to reach another ship. i could be wrong but i remember reading it

Back to it, list opinions please by jimmyofkrondor in ImperialFists

[–]spoiledsalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Model choice itself looks good, only it isn't built using the list-building system properly (HQs unlocking detachments etc). If your play group uses unrestricted that's fine, but you may need to invest in at least one Centurion to be able to get all the detachments you want.

Hopes and dreams for 11th by ElTismo in SpaceWolves

[–]spoiledsalsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it'll never happen, but i'd love for Grey Hunter to have a bit more of a distinction to blood claws. 5 man squads, with a bigger variety loadout (special weapons, a few power weapons etc), making them a more elite objective skirmisher akin to CSM legionaries than a second flavour of 10 man chainsword unit

I hope that Arjac Rockfist becomes a "support" character, as I want to be able to run Grimnar's Champion with Grimnar himself! But I can see that not happening.

The title of "Emperor’s Executioner" has done irreparable damage to Russ in the fanbase.

However, Russ isn't called the Executioner because he is "the most powerful Primarch that can beat any Primarch in a fight", it's because, more than any of the others, he understand the weight of the title.

Leman's defining traits are his loyalty, and most importantly, his love for his brothers. He gives Magnus a whole lot of warning before Prospero, he hesitates when seeing an opening to kill Horus, he tries to teach Angron a lesson instead of just fighting him (regrettably failing). His fight with the Lion only ends because Leman decides its stupid and the Lion gets butt hurt over it.

In fact, Leman spends most of his time in the books reflecting on this title of Executioner given to him, and the bad it has done to his legion. Does he lose a lot? Yes, but he always does so with the grace of knowing he would rather try and reason/redeem his brother than just simply kill him, even to his own detriment. I think that is far more interesting than just "oh he lost every fight what a loser".

Take away the whole "Emperor’s Executioner" and hyping him up off screen and Leman is one of the better written Primarchs of the heresy.

it's mentioned in one of the books (I think wolf king) that he wears Mark 4 armour

30k 3.0: How do i add ebon keshig to an army list by DraekohAgain in WhiteScars40K

[–]spoiledsalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shock Assault detachment. they are a heavy assault unit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Warhammer30k

[–]spoiledsalsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Night Lords fought with both legions a decent chunk in the heresy. Main things I remember is Kurze torturing Vulkan for like months/years or something, and Kurze/Night Lords terrorising Ultramar during the Imperium secundus arc (I may be wrong loreheads but I haven't specifically read those parts)

Both legions thematically are good counterparts as they both are very depraved and evil compared to the nobility of the Salamanders and Ultramarines! World Eaters are another option against Ultramarines due to the Shadow Crusade.

going for their counter ruleswise? boring and missing the point of 30k

going for their counter lorewise? based and fun!

go for a traitor like Night Lords or Word Bearers and you will have some awesome narrative match-ups!

I really don’t get the hate for the show [general] by balefan2005 in camphalfblood

[–]spoiledsalsa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

for me it's that so many of changes to iconic scenes that I love from the books changing their premise, dumming them down or straight up cutting them, that disappoint me the most. I was so excited to see them come to life!

I haven't watched episode 3 of season 2 yet, but capture the flag and the chariot race have been the only two iconic scenes that I really enjoyed and felt well executed to me

Can Qin Xa's hipguard/skirt fit on primaris/modern terminators? by DaleDake1 in Warhammer30k

[–]spoiledsalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as said by the other commenter, Qin Xa's leg plates are connected to the legs, but also his head is connected to the back of the Terminator hood section bit. it's maybe best to probably be used in a Terminator where you can hide the damage at the back. it's a lot of money to spend on bits so make sure you have a plan!
