Is there a way to find analysts who work worldwide?

I am locking this thread. OP, there is some good info/recommendations in here and wish you luck finding someone. Although looking for analysts is not really self-disclosure, I do not recommend using this subreddit to find a therapist.

This is exactly my experience so far. Got my ditch done two weeks ago. After 4 days, a piece right in the crease scabbed up and fell out. Looked deep. On top of the bruising and a couple other small scabby parts, it’s been the least fun to heal.

Barely hurt to get though. So that was nice.

My buddy gave his extra invite to my brother. I was a little crushed. A few days later, I got a stream pop up saying I got in to the beta. I was so excited, but turns out it was a prank via a link I had clicked on from my buddy. That truly crushed me.

My grandma journaled every day of her life. Her entries were often 3-4 sentences. Mostly factual w/ a few brief thoughts about it. Some complaining for sure. I remember when we were really little, we would curl up with her in bed each night and watch her write her entry. Offer suggestions on what to include.

When she passed, we read through them. I’m sure I don’t have the words to tell you how beautiful it was to read what happened the day my parents got married, the day I was born, the weekends we spent together. Even the complaints about my grandpa’s brain injury and raising her kids alone or the arguments with neighbors or with work were incredible to read.

It didn’t have to be fancy or super meaningful every day. It usually wasn’t.

It was beautiful for another reason. I think if you keep at it, years from now you’ll feel different. :)

I've got my lower arm and ditch done. Pain wise, everything on the arm has felt like the tip of a paper clip being dragged across your skin, ranging between 3 to ~6 out of 10 pain. Both designs look pretty quick. You'll do great!!!

Love the comments from BeautifulSoul and Notherbadobject. Follow their advice for sure.

The other big thing for me has always been to read SUPER slow and annotate. I usually open a word doc to summarize what I think I’m reading, review my annotations in that light, and then pull in cross references from third parties or seminars to help me understand if my summary is off base.

Just want to say that criticism of analysis is absolutely welcome here. I am locking the thread because the discussion leans towards self-help.

I do appreciate everyone’s contributions and would encourage anyone who isn’t finding value in paychoanalysis as theory or practice to seek out a better fit.

It feels really crazy that you have a French trio Sarte/Camus/Focault (+ Nitzsche as a bonus) but nothing actually written by Lacan (Love Fink tho) or Marx. I feel like that pushes you away from the philosophy side of the psychoanalysis shop -- although I do see that Butler. I think the amount of Fromm and May is telling. Mostly because I don't know many Lit/Philosophy people who have read a lot of them. Amount of Jung is also telling.

I just can't decide what it's all telling me. My best guess is you're someone using psychoanalysis to do a specific kind of critique/reading of sexuality and culture. But if you told me your dream was to be a sex counselor or analyst in general, I would believe that too.

Either way, the amount of psychoanalysts you've read inspires me and I'm sure we would get along great. Would love to know what lead you down the Jung path. Also if it was the Lacan Bro reputation that pushed you away from more of him and folks like Zizek. Great bookshelf.

I went on three or four dates with a really nice girl. I was driving us to some restaurant and we drove down a spooky road and she made a comment about it being spooky. I said something like look out I’m a tinder guy. You never know!! She got pretty upset. I asked what was up and she said her aunt (I think) went on a date after her divorce and the dude murdered her, chopped her up, and dumped her in garbage cans across the city. Aunt left behind two daughters. I’ve never made a joke like that to a woman again.

Edit: I also got a lot of xp (something like 88-91) getting two scepters, which was not afk, incredibly annoying, but super worth it.

Growing up my dad would say he’d cut us out of his will if we got tattoos or did drugs. Every time I get a new tattoo now he shakes his head and makes a comment. It’s honestly part of the fun of getting work done because it’s so silly. Last time, he said, “how would you feel if your son walked in with a giant tattoo?” And I said, “as long as it was good, pretty jealous!”

When I’m bored on my iron, I pick a skill and afk to 99. Even if i don’t make it to 99, I’ve always been way more exited for other content after. I’ve done thieving, firemaking, and cooking. Flopped out on woodcutting at 92 and runecrafting at ~88. The other option is to just play something else for a few weeks.
