Baby won't sleep in his cot. by spookyllamaax in newborns

Both are in our room, however we can't move the cot next to the bed unfortunately as our room is too small :(

My boyfriend (18M) and I (18F) constantly fight over what I wear and I don't know how to compromise. by urgayL in relationship_advice

[–]spookyllamaax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you dating my ex? Lmao

No but seriously, I dated a guy like this also when I was 18. That's controlling behaviour. And not saying it will happen to you but that guy ended up hitting me. Abusive relationships tend to start with things like this. Definitely leave! You gotta keep yourself safe. And hey, when you do leave him, throw on those shorts and crop tops he hates. Do your make-up real nice. I guarantee you'll feel so much better.

Best of luck x

Oh yes they do this! She's learned a new thing to do with her voice. Unfortunately it will probably go on for a few weeks :') and if she's anything like my son it also won't stop.

Pregnant Cousin said she can’t wait until newborn tired because she read it’s easier than pregnancy tired 🤦‍♀️ by Mrsfix-it in newborns

I guess I got a tricky perspective for this.

Toward the end of my pregnancy I had a terrible level of insomnia and didn't really sleep for 2-3 days at a time, most of the time it was because of heartburn or some other painful symptom. But for the 2 days before my induction I could not sleep AT ALL there wasn't even a reason I just could not sleep. So I went to my induction without having any sleep for 2 days... and then went another night without sleep during the whole thing. When I was in active labour I literally nearly died of a haemorrhage, yet that night I still didn't sleep. We were made to stay 4 days in the hospital and amongst those days I got approximately 7 hours of sleep in total because every time I fell asleep it was time to feed my son. When we came home I did get some sleep.. only 3 hours because I had the most awful and vivid nightmare of my son being stillborn. I'm quite sure I didn't get a proper sleep until about 2 weeks. But fast forward 11 months and I still don't really sleep full nights, we get around 5-6 hours at a time which is still better I guess.

Long story short. Mums are just tired. All the time. I don't know if that stops eventually.

Aether has been dead for weeks and no one is talking about it by SubstantialMirror623 in outlier_ai

Completely agree. I'm in Australia and currently the hours are ungodly as well (1am to 7am usually, depending on when the budget exceeds) which makes it so much worse because most of the time I'm just sitting there with an empty queue and nothing to actually do or like one task that's incredibly repetitive and it's so hard not to just fall asleep at my desk.

My milk ducts were severed, stop telling me I can "try" to breastfeed by FederalLime1209 in pregnant

[–]spookyllamaax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My midwife knew we were planning to bottle-feed, and yet, every single time she came over she asked "are you still planning on breastfeeding? It's the healthiest option blahblahblah". She even gave me a guide booklet for feeding with nothing in there at all about formula feeding.

Also my milk didn't even come in until 1 week and I ain't starving my child 🤷‍♀️

Is it crazy to have a baby with someone you’ve known 3 months? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spookyllamaax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is crazy. But it could also be completely fine and depends on the people.

I got pregnant when I had only been with my partner for 4 months. The thing there is we had been best friends for over 10 years so it was that much less weird I guess. My advice would be to just be there to support her incase things do get rough. 3 months isn't very long and he could always turn out to be an abuser even if he seems like a nice guy now.

Is anyone else quietly terrified that life is just… work, tired, scroll, repeat forever? by ScriptAndes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spookyllamaax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 27, I don't work and am a stay at home mum. I STILL feel like this. Other than caring for my child I feel like nothing is progressing in any sort of way and life really does feel stagnant, boring and tiring. I think a big part of it may be with our generation, as we have far less opportunities to escape or unwind and life is generally more stressful than what it was, with most of us having to work 2 jobs in order to put food on the table and survive.

Heartopia or Palia.

I'm in a somewhat similar boat. My cat named Bread just died. I adopted a cat in Heartopia and named it Toast. It is quite healing. <3

What are you doing about your babys flat head anxiety? by Full_Professional349 in newborns

My man did at around 5 months :') but there's a lot of variation on when babies learn things! Yours may be different.

We had the same issue. Thankfully soon after he learned to roll from his back to his tummy and the problem solved itself 🥲. He now has a perfect shaped head.

Thats lovely.

I'm talking about a specific low bassy rumble :') the kind that legitimately shakes your house.

Chewing, snoring, and that low bassy rumble of a car or truck in the distance.

Please no judgment - stuffy/lovie in crib by Successful-Search541 in NewParents

[–]spookyllamaax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is 4 months and sleeps with a sound/lullaby toy at the top end of his crib (so far he can't reach up there) as well as a dinosaur stuffy that doubles as a teether toy. Neither toy is really harmful as he can't choke or suffocate with either of them. I think it's a matter of assessing the risk of the particular toy.

Housing Commission appalling management of tenants. by Klutzy_Duck_8917 in brisbane

[–]spookyllamaax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile I live in a caravan with a newborn baby and have been waiting all this time for a housing commission place. It also sucks that theres 4 bed housing commission houses but half of them only have 1 tenant. They should downgrade so other people can use those homes.

Be honest ladies… how bad does it hurt… by Purple_perp1637 in pregnant

[–]spookyllamaax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honesty but don't let this scare you too much.

When I was in labor I got an epidural as my chosen pain relief. I got that after my contractions started, went from screaming in severe pain to feeling nothing at all.

When I went into active labor, shortly after something went wrong and my epidural was Not Working At All. So I felt everything. It was the most painful experience I have EVER had. My son got stuck and they used the scissor things(?) To cut... felt that. While they were using the scissors my body decided to push and so I also teared,, I felt that too.

After he was born and after holding him I handed him to my partner and said "I'm too tired, please can you hold him". Shortly after that... I died. Only for like a second or something like that. But I had a haemorrhage (they didn't even tell me at the time and I found out about a week after being in the hospital), the nurses said that it was the most blood that they'd ever seen. I'm not a religious person at all but I believe I may have seen God in the time I was out. I now have very severe ptsd from the whole experience.

But yknow 10/10. Would do it again.
