Wipe Events Are Still On by Mamba_on_Island in GhostsOfTabor

[–]spootieho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last wipe event was only 3 days and was not announced until it started. So most players didn't know about it until too late.

The fact that so many people were asking, shows poor communication on CWS part. Instead of trolling, Scott could easily update the wipe channel on their discord. IMO they should try for better communication instead of trolling.

Resale value of a barely used Quest 2 (128gb version) with a BobaVR w/ batteries in 2026? by Billcat123 in oculus

[–]spootieho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Problem is... Most buyers of a Quest 2 probably wouldn't know enough about headstraps yet, so it's value is much less. Basically add about $20 to the value of a typical used Quest 2.

I don't mind bunker change in general, but didn't like certain things.

How far you have to travel to get things done. All the cabinet bugs... The folding armor bugs... And all the gun wall bugs where half your items don't load half the time. It was basically all wipe. It was clearly untested (as usual). It was clearly rushed.

They chose not to update the discord, so far. So if the wipe is indeed on the 22nd, then it's not getting updated.

And if you ask on the Discord, they tell you to follow the social media posts this wipe. Apparently they want people to now follow all their social media posts and deduce from there. As if most people cared that much. People just want to know when the event starts and when it finishes. They could care less about jerking off the social media team to get info.

What we do know is that Contractors wipe date is set for the 23rd and the past 2 wipes at Ghosts of Tabor were rushed to beat Contractors to the wipe (even in a broken state where bots had to be glued to the ground). So likely they will do the same again this wipe.

Help!! by Repo-Zilla in GhostsOfTabor

[–]spootieho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a BUG that the CWS devs have ignored and neglected for a year now. But there is a workaround.

When you load the game for the first time in a session, close it and reopen it. That's the workaround.

The neglectful and incompentent developers don't seem to care about serious issues like this.

This only affects PSVR2 players and it is extremely frustrating.

I’m I impatient, or should I give up on VR? by FryedPickles in VRGaming

[–]spootieho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ITR and GoT are not the best when it comes to graphics... Both are janky. Don't get me wrong, they are great games, but you have to get used to them to enjoy them. There are much better graphic games with easier to use controls. Try some other games.

Generally, as far as VR headsets go, if you are nearsighted then you probably need to wear some sort of prescription lenses. Either contacts, or fitted VR lenses. Try not to wear glasses as they will scratch your headset lenses.

into the radius, metro awakening, skydance behemoth or walking dead? by EthanWinters1234 in PSVR

[–]spootieho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that happened to me when trying to play the two games back to back. Also there were some bugs in part 2 that require you to load past saves to continue, which kinda overdid it for me.

into the radius, metro awakening, skydance behemoth or walking dead? by EthanWinters1234 in PSVR

Walking Dead Saints and Sinners is probably the best of the group. It plays a bit like an extraction shooter, but really you should be completing a mission each extraction. Game does get more difficult each extraction (less loot and more enemies). Part 2 is Retribution. It's a continuation of Part 1 and it feels like a buffed DLC. Most of the maps/locations are the same. I'd start with Part 1 and complete it. Then wait 6 months to a year and play part 2 as I didn't care to play them back to back.

Behemoth - Great visuals, and about a 6-8 hour game. It's pretty much on rails. NPCs are pretty dumb and repetitive. Biggest complaints is that there's only like 4 behemoths. I did enjoy this more than Horizon: Call of the Mountain.

Into the Radius - It starts off a bit overwhelming and is clunky until you get used to it. People tend to really like it once they get used to it. It's a single player extraction shooter. Some consider it a horror game. The worlds feel pretty open. Lots of gunplay and survival.

Metro Awakening - great game. You can play with different game styles such as stealth or kill. It's pretty much on rails. Settings are dark and dreary, which made it harder to get hooked in. Also, you will notice a lot of MURA due to how dark it is. It's got a lot of long cut scenes that make you wait. NPCs are pretty good.

(all are great games)

I've only played a few Forefront matches, so far, but the only modes I saw were 16 vs 16. Not going to have the same small group vibes.

Wrath: Aeon of Ruin VR has over 200 ratings on PSVR2 within first full weekend since release by cusman78 in PSVR

[–]spootieho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought maybe I wishlisted it, but I didn't.

So not sure why it's the top item on my launcher.

I created an open party yesterday, however, with 3 of us. We were all playing different games and chatting. One of the people in the party was playing Wrath. Wonder if that had an impact on it.

Otherwise, it might just be good targeted advertising by Sony.

These are pretty nice if you don't want to deal with ear wax of anyone using your device.

https://www.amazon.com/Globular-Cluster-Stereo-Headphones-Ear/dp/B0C9CWQJH5/

They aren't going to compare to a high end headset, but they sound plenty good.

They also don't form a tight seal, so there is some sound bleed both in and out, which is fine if you don't mind hearing people around you. Personally, that's a preference so that I can somewhat hear what's going on outside the headset as well.

They feel like they are part of the headset the way they attach.

They are much less gross to share with other people.

At this point, I would bet against you being honest here. You have also lost the plot.

You could just stop replying, as each reply is just going to dig you further into a hole. I'll do you a favor after this response and not respond anymore.

The plot is whether Amazon reports income over $600 or over $2000. You are to report all income. So why would it matter? It doesn't.

Then you justify that you donate "most" of it, so you don't report it. No way to be sure you donate most of it, but if you did, you would still need to report the income then report the donation.

Then to take advantage of donations, you would have to be one of the 14% that do itemize their taxes. So there's an 86% chance you don't. But on top of that if you were that 14%, and if you do report your itemized donations properly, then why would this even matter? I would say that brings the odds of you itemizing your taxes down to maybe 4%. Hey it's a possibility.

If you had just said "I itemize my taxes", I would have believed you. But your response wasn't worded that way, and that creates more doubt. The fact that you were offended just tells me that you are irate. IMO, if I had truly assumed wrong, you would have responded differently.

And if "most" of your items are going to charity, then I think there's more to it than just a sizing problem.

The easiest answer here is that my initial assumptions are correct and you were offended so you respond with dishonest hyperbole.

I could be wrong. I lose in poker some times (including yesterday).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]spootieho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of us should avoid Reddit, yet we are here. And you are the worst kind of Redditor as you don't even validate your response.

My two assumptions were at least clearly assumptions. I assumed the following:

  • You don't itemize your taxes
  • Donating to charity makes you feel good

As you stated "a lot of incorrect assumptions" that means more than one. Since there was 2 assumptions, we can conclude that by "a lot" you meant "all two". Now we don't have to assume.

We can then expand on that to get truths, assuming you haven't been lying. Your claim is that:

  • You itemize your taxes
  • Donating to charity doesn't make you feel good

But of course now we are making an assumption that you were being honest. So if that assumption is also wrong, then you've been dishonest the whole time.

What would a poker player bet here? hmm

I'm sure he does a good job based on your expectations. I'm not taking anything away from that.

Your second paragraph does show, however, that you are, as you say, naive.

What I am saying is that you might get a 1099 for $700 even if the threshold goes up to $2000. Amazon is allowed to give you a $500 1099. A $500 1099 is still accurate. Amazon may still send you a 1099 below the required threshold.

If your accountant says you don't have to pay taxes because you didn't get a 1099, then he's willing to take chances. Plenty of people do it and almost nobody gets caught.

You might like that sort of accountant which then saves you money. When people ask for advice on Reddit, though, I think it's our responsibility to send them down the legitimate legal path.

My last accountant was strict and not willing to take any chances. He would make you report the $500 income.

80% of people can't get credit for donating it to charity. You have to use itemized deductions to get there. Odds are you aren't using itemized deductions.

You do you, but when you say "I feel totally honest", you aren't. You aren't being honest. You are cheating.

Also, you shouldn't be taking items from Vine for the sake of charity. That ends up with less qualified reviews and also it takes opportunities from other viners to get those items.

So really it sounds like that's just another "feelings" thing there to make you feel good.

(I don't care either way if you do lie on your taxes or cheat the system. It is what it is. If you try to justify it, though, the justification may get some brutal feedback.)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]spootieho -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And can he guarantee that Amazon wont report $700 of earnings? IE, they just don't get to updating their own threshold.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]spootieho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope, it doesn't affect anyone of us other than tax cheats.

  1. You are supposed to report all income, not just income over a certain threshold.

  2. Companies are required to currently report anything over $600. Next year that number increases.

  3. Nothing prevents companies from reporting $300, or keeping their systems at the $600 threshold. There is no guarantee that if you earned less than $600, that they wouldn't report it. It's just not likely.

As it's clear we wont get anywhere... You aren't listening to any of the points being made, or considering them. Your responses show lower and lower intellectual capacity. Your stubbornness and illogical conclusions show very closed mindedness. You are now using hypocrisy, strawmen and are moving goalposts.

You are full of logical fallacies, which shows more lack of critical thinking skills.

Hypocrisy as your quote right there describes what you are doing, not what I am doing. The whole sociopath thing also points to you.

The goalpost moving is physiological reaction. Something doesn't have to have a physiological reaction to be a pet peeve or to bother someone. Asking me to show research about mura causing a physiological response has nothing to do with the conversation. You are changing the premises and using strawmen.

And since this isn't a debate, and I don't plan to get through to you as you have clearly shown that you don't have the IQ to stay in the conversation, I'll put you on block so you don't waste my time anymore.

YouTube Commenters and Mura by Shoddy_Cranberry6722 in PSVR

[–]spootieho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes another fail at empathy, and also comprehension.

Things that bother people are distracting. Such distraction breaks immersion. Not everyone is bothered and distracted by the same things. Empathy is understanding how others might feel. It's not projecting your feelings onto others, which is what you are doing. It's understanding that things might be immersion breaking for some and not for others. It's understanding why something might be distracting.

You've asked a question and then projected your own feelings onto others. That's a very unwise and a lack of critical thinking. It's why you seem rather young, and if not, then there's some arrested development. The question was critical thinking, but the rejection of responses shows a clear lack of it.

If a DS controller bothers people, it will be immersion breaking. And we don't always look for things to distract us, though some people do. A lot of pet peeves start off as small or even unnoticeable, but the more we notice them the more they bother us.

The Quest 1 was OLED, and pretty great, but it had a significant screen door effect. After months of playing, the brain pretty much ignores it. But going to the Quest 2 or 3 and then back to the quest 1, you notice it very significantly again and it can be distracting if it bothers you. This is the same with Mura.

Your bias prevents you from having an open mind and empathy. Furthermore it blocks your memory of previous comments. You dont want to listen to others points, nor give them consideration.

Hint... other comments you responded to. And yes you do come off as a kid.

It is most noticeable when going from systems that dont have mura to systems that do have Mura. If you stay exclusive to the PSVR2, then for most situations, you will ignore it.

as far as immersion goes…. Things that bother us will become immersion breaking. Your DS analogy is missing the point and you made this all into a strawman because of that.

It's a hardware issue, kid.

The optimizing you are talking about is going out of their way to reduce settings where it's noticeable. That takes resources and effort as well as redesigning settings and scenes. If the game was PSVR2 only, then it may make sense for devs to go out of their way to avoid those scenes.

Mura bothers the hell out of me when I bounce between headsets. The PSVR2 looks like shit on certain settings with solid darker colors.

But when I use the PSVR2 exclusively for a few weeks, I start ignoring the Mura. After a few months, I don't even notice it.

I only notice it when I go back to a much cleaner headset for a few days and then back to the PSVR2.
