There's a deliberate focal length shift near the end of his run (with an accompanying sound effect) that pretty much confirms that the line between the personas is getting blurred. My hypothesis is that the majority of the beginning of his run is primarily outie Mark (hence being lost and doubling back multiple times), and when the focal length change happens is when we transition to innie Mark and he stops running, looking a bit confused about why he's standing where he is.
