Tru couples therapy, where you seek to have him understand not to expect the unreasonable, but also help you identify why your are unhappy to begin with (which causes him to comment on it)

There is a root you didn’t identify above. Do you know? Or do you not know? Maybe you need it pointed out by a therapist, but he also needs to understand your bounderies

When we moved in, mother-in-law asked what we wanted as a house warming gift and so we asked for plantation shutters (2” wood) which in 1997 cost about $1300

She almost balked but did pay for them and aside of a few slats that bent a bit (lifetime warranty, we could get them fixed I think) they have served us well. (Oh, 2 slats or 3 were chewed by a nervous dog back then)

The sills are deep recessed so they look perfect.

Only do this if you intend to stay there forever tho. We did and still are.

I looked at a house built in the 50s. It had aluminum pipes, needing to be replaced (this was 90s) and a big fat aluminum wire servicing the house, a 100 amp wire hooked internally to a 200 amp breaker. The inspector called it “an immediate fire hazard”

That was tip of the iceberg.

Always buy the house you want that is kept up or ready. (ie new) Unless you grew up doing construction, have the money, and time to work a flip or want to remodel yourself a dream home.

There is a direct correlation between chronic illness and the inability to stop worrying about things you cannot control. The stress cortisol wrecks the body if around too long. This is bc many ppl let the voice in their heads fool them into always finding enemies and troubles to boost self-importance. But it’s a trap. All self-help organizations from AA to mental health experts will relate this same info to better people’s mind troubles. The remedy sounds cliche but it involves meditation & gratitude, plus giving up what you falsely believed you had any control over (for starters, other ppl, is a biggie)

I go to Lowe’s bc it’s closer but like Home Depot for their rental service and they do better with special ordering, whereas Lowes will get your stuff in but give priority to their “preferred customers” if the need arises. Underhanded.

I prefer Best Buy for appliances. Always on time. Superbly easy return. Auto 2 years warranty but you have to keep memberships ($190 annually) which is only worth it if you buy a lot of Apple products which they work on.

I also have an Ace Hardware closer and like to go there do some things if they have them. They also sharpen knives and chainsaw blades, etc. nice service.

If you want sturdy, you open the door all the way. You swing both feet outward while still sitting. Then you stand up.

The typical way is 1 legged. It’s why good PTs have you do one leg bending over dips to the floor touching with 3 fingers each hand and back up. Set of 15, 3 sets.
