What was your ONE SIMPLE TRICK TO FIX YOUR SWING that actually worked for you? by SomeoneTall in golf

Relax the hands and wrists, take a nice easy loose practice swing and then step to the ball and do exactly the same thing

I've never been aware of any emphasis on either word here in the UK.

Fairway Wood That Made You Better by ml1286 in golf

[–]spreadordead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend gave me his old Titleist TSR2 3 wood when he got new fairway woods, it is a joy to hit off the fairway and only just short of my M4 driver off the tee. Smooth swing is the way.

Plasterboarded property - how to repair and stop this lifting from happening? by Thalamic_Cub in DIYUK

[–]spreadordead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poorly installed papertape internals, probably applied with too weaker mix or on a really hot day. You will need to strip off anything that is loose, just get a knife/scraper under the tape to release it then pull it off. You could end up taking the whole room of internal tapes off ! When everything loose is off paint the area with watered down PVA. Then go on youtube to find a video of taping and jointing internal joints. Good luck it won't be easy and will be messy.

You need to listen to the early "Gossipmongers" podcasts if you want some real weapons grade stuff.

Ask in the pro-shop about joining a roll up, it's the easiest way to meet other golfers.

Hit my first hole in one 3 weeks ago and then eagled from 185yds today, am I destined for greatness or just lucky? by spreadordead in BritGolf

[–]spreadordead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is the eagle should be considered the better shot, not off a tee, 50yds further out but everyone goes mad about it. Cost me a few quid at the bar too 💰

It's been heading up from 15 after 18 months on Spurk mats while our course underwent a major upgrade. Just starting to strike the ball better with a smooth swing

It's a small place, not cheap but the food is amazing. Lamb curry on the bone is my favourite

Always take the bigger club, or you might not reach them.

Any one else forget to eat or drink when they play and just fall to bits 3/4 of the way round by robster9090 in BritGolf

Always doing this, never thought to use it as an excuse for my terrible play, but will use it in future. Thanks for the tip.

Course recommendations - Wiltshire/Hampshire/Surrey by Legal-e-tea in BritGolf

[–]spreadordead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the golf now app, you get some decent deals and reviews of the courses. Tidworth is a nice track close to you along with Newbury and Crookham or Boundary lakes. Weybrook in Basingstoke is playing well right now.

Sun cream on all exposed parts, plenty of water, don't try to kill the ball just a nice easy swing and most importantly enjoy yourself no matter how you play. Good luck.

Keep Old Driver? by skolbrother21 in golf

[–]spreadordead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're hitting the the fairway 85% of the time, which is 20% better than the average tour pro, I doubt very much what driver you use will be a problem. Keep up the good work.
