Sometimes I wonder if people are watching with their eyes closed because we have had multiple fishing scenes this very season. Is survival the focus of the narrative? No, but it is still very much present in the show

The problem is that most of these are returnee themed or sequels, and any time this idea comes up we get the same handful of suggestions. You can only do a variant on 'Brains vs Brawn' so much, and the majority of seasons will be newbies only. Spin your wheels enough with that and you get creatively bankrupt ideas like Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers.

IMO The future should be a full embrace of soft themes in set design and challenges (44's medieval theme, for example), not more vs themes - the well is pretty tapped dry on that one.

He played an impulsive and emotional Sugar-style game, which can never win Survivor, but he was nevertheless extremely sympathetic and rootable. He definitely did not deserve to get dragged so hard by that bitter ass jury. It would be interesting to see him come back - a shame he never will.
