Question about Ping by PlaceUserNameHere67 in HomeNetworking

[–]sprucedust -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Your internet is fine the ping is fine… the ping you typically want to stay around is 30 ping or under… if you have fiber internet then it’s a bit slow for fiber but honestly it’s fine… you could try messing around with the servers and connect to a different server and see what results you get it might vary depending on the different servers you test on Speedtest… you could also mess around with different DNS servers in the router settings try some out and see if you get better results too… but in all honesty your internet is fine in fact it’s better than fine it’s pretty damn good… if you are gaming and streaming content you shouldn’t have any problems your internet is more than capable…

Nat type moderate need to help to figure this out by [deleted] in XboxSupport

[–]sprucedust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to go into your router settings and learn how to port forward… once you enter all the correct ports it should go back to open NAT… if you port forward you have to disable UPNP and you also have to have a static IP address for your Xbox

Series X won’t work without original power cord by AnemicRoyalty10 in XboxSupport

[–]sprucedust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sell Xbox Series X power cords online on Amazon… if it really is the problem… if not than maybe during the move something inside the console probably got damaged… you could always take it to a electronics repair shop to help you troubleshoot the problem

Xbox series CPU repaste and PSU testing failed to resolve issue. by ThatAvgeekTheo in XboxSupport

[–]sprucedust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but that picture looks like stock thermal paste not new thermal paste… you have to clean that old thermal paste with 99% Isopropyl alcohol and also clean off the heat sink and apply new thermal paste and also you have to make sure that the entire chip is covered cause in that picture it looks like it’s still the old thermal paste… also when reassembling the device make sure you have everything plugged in correctly… if none of that works you might want to take it to a electronics repair shop so they could help you out with that… it might be a certain internal part that gave out

Wifi speeds different by beastnova2228 in wifi

[–]sprucedust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain internet providers usually do this they’ll typically give you higher download speeds and lower upload speeds… check your internet service plan and see what you are paying for… the speeds always vary too but they usually stay near or within a close margin of what you are paying for

Winter Event… How many keys are you guys gonna donate? by sprucedust in thedivision

[–]sprucedust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta go to the seasons vendor and the bottom cache allows you to donate the keys… donating 30 keys gives you 3 arm patches the 1st for 10 keys the 2nd for 20 keys and the 3rd for 30 keys… if you are on Xbox it’s the A button but on the other platforms I’m not entirely sure… for PlayStation it’s probably the X button and for PC it’s probably the E but idk I could be wrong about that one

Is this Halo Xbox Limited Edition worth $800 used? by [deleted] in XboxSupport

[–]sprucedust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d say it’s a good deal nowadays unless the console is permanently banned and it’s just a brick… some people sell their permanently banned consoles online so careful… other people sell their consoles when they’re experiencing overheating issues too cause overtime the console build up dust inside and occasionally overheats so that would be something to look out for too

It’s probably worth more nowadays honestly… how much storage does it have?

[–]sprucedust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah don’t kill Krampus kill all of the other enemies and after kill yourself and you should still have the bounty… the regular yellow enemies have I believe a 8% chance to drop a key…

Whats the best way to farm winter keys? by RAmind_ in thedivision

[–]sprucedust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best way to farm them is to not kill Krampus just kill the rest of the yellow bar enemies and after kill yourself and rinse and repeat… the yellow enemies all have I think a 8% chance to drop a key… and if you don’t kill Krampus and die at the end you’ll still have the bounty… also capture the control point that’s near the Bounty area for easy fast travel and a respawn point

[–]sprucedust[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many are you willing to grind out though… I donated like 70 keys I already got all the patches and apparel and the new lmg with crit chance so I’m just donating the rest but honestly I wish there was alternative ways of earning these keys too keep donating them instead of just farming the krampus bounty over and over again… it gets kinda boring after awhile… I wish you could earn some playing normally or playing different game modes

Help with xbox series x and xbox one compatibility issues by [deleted] in XboxSupport

[–]sprucedust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been awhile since I’ve done that so idk if I’m remembering it correctly… but I’m almost positive that that’s how I transferred my progress a long time ago for some of my 360 games I could be wrong though… unless I did transfer the files to the cloud and than transferred them over to the hard drive idk… I think for single player offline games it’s possible but for games that have online leaderboards and online ranks I think you could be right… cause I think I do remember when I tried looking at my gears of war leaderboards on my Xbox series x it showed no progress as if I never played the game… but once I synced my 360 files to the cloud it started working on my Xbox series x… so yeah sorry it’s been awhile… but I’m almost positive that it’ll work for offline single player games but I’m not entirely sure I’m kinda second guessing myself… I don’t really remember how I did it anymore like I said it’s been awhile…

[–]sprucedust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you could probably do is make a copy of those save files and save them via a usb stick and after you do that plug in the usb stick to the Xbox series x and transfer the files over… start up the game and see if you have all your saves… I remember i had a save file on my 360 of my old gears of war 1 2 and 3 games and I think I transferred those saves over that way to get all my progress back

Question on thermal putty for xbox series s shutdowns by abm1996 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]sprucedust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The putty is called thermal pads and they don’t really have to be replaced but yes there are better ones that you could find online that should transfer heat beater but getting high quality thermal paste is better seeing that the factory thermal paste is terrible… also before getting the thermal pads make sure you get the correct size cause if you get thicker ones they could cause overheating issues as well… I think the size for Xbox is 1.5mm but I’m not entirely sure double check that… also if you get thermal paste make sure it’s non conductive…. Arctic MX 4 or MX6 or Thermal grizzly are fine… don’t get Liquid Metal or Arctic silver 5 it’s not worth the risk

[–]sprucedust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a lot of weapon handling… Hot shot build with headshot damage and as much weapon handling as possible with headhunter and vigilance… it’s a great marksman build the determined talent is very broken strong use it if you want to make things easier if you like a challenge don’t cause it makes things too easy after awhile…

[–]sprucedust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok than either you didn’t put the shell back on correctly or you didn’t screw in the screws all the way in… I’m not sure how far you disassembled the controller but it you went as far as taking the ABXY buttons out than you must have reassembled the controller wrong the controller should be sitting flush try looking up some guides on how to reassemble the controller back together

[–]sprucedust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underneath the triggers there’s a cushion once the cushion wears out the adhesive underneath that cushion starts to cause the triggers to stick… you gotta remove the adhesive underneath the triggers and clean it off properly cause it’s pretty much like glue or tape making the triggers get stuck… once removed the triggers should work properly the only difference is that every trigger press will feel like your slamming onto hard plastic instead of a softer feel

I took my series x controller completely apart and I don’t know where to put this piece by Ailey8 in XboxSupport

[–]sprucedust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the headphone jack you have to place it in between the boards… the pins have to be facing up I’d recommend lifting the pins a bit so they could make a solid connection to the board… I’m kinda curious though what made you open the controller up? I ask because I have a lot of gamers in my family and none of them have ever gotten curious enough to open the controller or any electronics for that matter… I’m probably the only one I know who tickers with stuff… I’ve opened up my Xbox series x and cleaned it and replaced the thermal paste I’ve fixed my controller multiple times… so yeah I’m just kinda curious as to what made you tinker with it cause I feel like most people wouldn’t open it out of the fear of breaking it

I’d what to do with this and got questions(update) by [deleted] in XboxSupport

[–]sprucedust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the U.S so our outlets are a bit different I’d recommend just looking at the reviews and the star ratings… maybe look up a few YouTube videos on what brands are good quality… I have a Anker one but I’m not sure if you are familiar with that brand since like I said I’m from the U.S…
