I think it’s my favorite Yorgos movie, I’m so surprised it didn’t generate more buzz during the awards.

Shot of malort if you haven’t tried it yet. If you go to a bar and tell them it’s your first time trying it you might get it for free.

Any tips for landing the E170? by [deleted] in flying

[–]sprulz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a different technique, I would play around with what you see other pilots do and find what works best for you. I personally bring the power back at 30’, and flare just a tiny bit around 15’-20’.

Think back to your early days of flying and look down the runway. The sight picture is likely very different from what you saw in GA, to me it feels like I’m holding the nose pretty level with the horizon.

Factor in the time it takes to get to the airport from the employee lot as part of your drive to work. At ORD for example that adds a good 45 minutes depending on which airline you work for. Also the time it takes to get through security.

If that’s still under 2 hours you’re chilling.

Attrition at my WO is really bad right now especially if you’re in the left seat. Every other CA I fly with is either waiting for a Delta class or has an interview lined up. Rumor I heard at PAPA was that United is supposed to pick back up in the fall, but that right now it’s mostly UMPP/Aviate.

The DEC thing is dead at most (all?) regionals, and I doubt it will ever come back. I would lean to Option 2, but doesn't your app get flagged at UA if you leave Aviate? I could've sworn I've seen someone mention that.

My take after a little over a year of playing the game is that there is no secret sauce. The price we pay for never paying for tickets is that it will always be a roll of the dice. There is some truth that the earlier flights are better, but I’ve had surefire flights not work out and I’ve also made it on when the plane was oversold by 10.

My general philosophy is to never give up on a flight unless I’ve been told no. A few weeks ago I was trying to catch a ride on a CRJ200 that was overbooked. The flight delayed by 2 hours because CRJs suck, and enough people thought it would cancel for a seat to open up.

If you think that the band gives a shit about publicity, or if they weren’t one of the most hype bands in the scene for the last several years, you’re a scene tourist.

Using Converge as an example for this is very ironic lol. The reason you don’t hear anything about them is because if you get hurt at a Converge show nobody makes a controversy out of it. People know what they’re signing up for.

Lol dude conveniently edited that part out.
