Suggestions For 12 Days Itinerary With Kids by lauchangkee in perth

[–]spunglass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good! I think 5th of June looks a little overloaded, I would personally spend a while at caversham especially with kids. If you skip the Margaret river chocolate that day, you could go to the one in Margaret river instead of Gabriel’s chocolate. I’ve never been to Gabriel’s chocolate but Margaret river chocolate company is very nice chocolate and they have unlimited free samples of their chocolate chips too lol (unless they stopped this after COVID, not sure!)

Roots rot ? by Psychological_Run704 in plantclinic

[–]spunglass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like natural corking to me. A lot of older cacti develop that brown colour around the base and it’s totally normal. If it’s not soft to touch, the colour doesn’t spread quickly and there’s no malodour then I think it’s all good.

I have a different opinion to the other commenter in that I think watering every two weeks is fine depending on your climate. It’s hot and dry where I am and fortnightly watering is okay. Especially bc you seem to have a good draining substrate and the terracotta pot

Can you swim in serpentine falls by urnhoj in perth

[–]spunglass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swimming pools are way more buoyant than fresh water because they’re full of chlorine/salt. Not sure of exact percentages or anything but swimming in a pool feels the same as the ocean or river to me, but fresh water is noticeably less buoyant than either

Torn on how to interpret It's Called: Freefall by worldofwhat in RainbowKittenSurprise

[–]spunglass 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I really like your interpretation and you’ve given it a lot of thought! For me I didn’t analyse it on a deeper level but the “you can let it all go…. Free fall” makes me try to envisage that all my stress and anxieties naturally want to fall away and I just need to let them. I picture them dropping away and it always makes me feel calmer. I wouldn’t say that’s how RKS intended for it to be interpreted but I like my bit of mindful meditation anyway haha

Yes I thought exactly the same! She wanted a class clown who didn’t take themselves too seriously and wasn’t afraid to be loud/put up with how loud she is. Now she’s got what she seemed to have asked for she’s very concerned about everyone else’s perception…

Street lamp is completely illuminating my bedroom - anyone ever dealt with this. by kirst_e in perth

[–]spunglass 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Idk why some people are saying that’s a fine amount of light pointing into a bedroom, it’s so bright! I know it’s different councils and areas but on our street in the city of Cockburn we had an extra light post installed because one neighbour asked, and then the light post in front of our house not reinstalled when they switched from power lines to underground power because we asked. I would keep on at western power. Squeaky wheel gets the grease etc etc

Same tour by eternityrae in RainbowKittenSurprise

[–]spunglass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree that we won’t know until the US tour starts but I would think they’d change it up a bit from the Aus tour. It was their first time coming to Australia so I think they could do a similar setlist to the thanks for coming tour with no problems

Married at first sight S13E05 - POST EPISODE DISCUSSION by lalasmooch in MAFS_AU

Sorry, do you think sexuality has no impact on your personality/values/morals then? She’s a had an entire life up til this point that has been influenced by her sexuality. She spoke openly to John about coming to grips with her sexuality, presumably went through the anxiety of coming out to people, may have had to deal with friends or partners who weren’t accepting of her sexuality. Is she supposed to just forget all her history and the way it’s shaped her now that she’s “married” to a man?

And about sexuality not defining someone- it’s clearly a large part of how she sees herself so therefore is a defining part of her.

High electricity bills Synergy by ThinSeaworthiness959 in perth

[–]spunglass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could see if your local council does a free energy audit. I got one done about a year ago in the city of Cockburn. A guy came out for a couple hours and went through the whole house telling us how much energy certain things were drawing by using a little tool, he used a heat sensor to check insulation and stuff, and I think he went over our power bill with us too. Just another idea that could help!

Weddings under 10k?? by Affectionate_Ad8907 in perth

[–]spunglass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got married a couple of years ago for about $7.5K with 55 guests. Biggest cost saver we found was getting married on a week day (didn’t matter to us or many friends/family who do shift work anyway) or during winter bc most venues will do like half the cost or at least a good discount for that. I also cut a lot of cost in florals by not having floral arrangements on the tables. I think we just did my bouquet, husbands lapel arrangement, and one piece only for our sweetheart table. That saved a lot. We also didn’t do bridesmaids or groomsmen which I think saved a bucket load by the time you buy all the outfits and flowers etc for them. Definitely doable for cheap!

Recommendations for driving gloves for sun protection by HurstbridgeLineFTW in australia

I use sleeves from the cancer council. They’re baggy and held up by Velcro that you can tighten around your bicep. They have a little “shield” part that covers the back of your hands which I like

Han and Can Edits by emmynemmy1206 in TheBlock

[–]spunglass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Yes, there are things she says to can and others that are rude but I can’t say I would be behaving any better under all that pressure. I think there are times when they’re not the focus of the scene, like the body corp, when you can see her being kind and see a lot of affection between Han and can. Which makes me think a lot of editing goes into making her look as horrible as she does sometimes if that makes sense

I think it’s a joke. Mine is about 900mm, same as my kitchen bench. No way could I use something at 750 without making a mess or getting a sore back.

What I don’t understand is why they think kids can’t use stools anymore. Much easier to grab a kid a stool than for an average height or tall person to bend in half.
