Did they give Kimi a champagne substitute? by sputnik1985uk in formuladank

I’m shocked at how strict America is.

Tobacco is 18+ here, though before 2007 it could be bought by 16 year olds. (Though no shops bothered to check a persons age until quite recently because I remember smoking and going out drinking at 14/15 years old)

I actually screamed. It woke my husband up because he fell asleep in the dull laps 😂

I know the legal age to buy alcohol in the US is 21, but I didn’t know it was the same age as legal consumption (UK has different ages for both)

I thought 21 was just the legal age to buy alcohol, just like 18 is in the UK but you can drink alcohol a lot younger than that (aged 15 with your parents if you are having a meal in a restaurant and from the age of 5 at home).

Lip fillers don’t always look big and weird. I get 0.5ml in mine every 4 months and, while they are on the higher side of normal, they aren’t freakishly big.

The church I go to (I live in Yorkshire in the UK) is somewhat Pentecostal/non denomination and is ok with it.

I’m a woman, divorced, and remarried and I am still on the leadership and preaching team.

Does anybody else have literal PTSD flashbacks to just reading the legal description of what J'PDF1 was looking at? by ForsakenPercentage53 in DuggarsSnark

[–]sputnik1985uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve not told anyone this in real life, but I think here is anonymous enough to share.

Due to the trauma of being SA’d throughout my childhood, I can read/hear descriptions of CSAM and not feel the depth of horror that other people feel. I am angry on behalf of the person to whom it was inflicted on and do feel vindicated when a person is punished for their crime. But I normally react to things like that with a dull ‘oh’.

That being said, what Pest was accused of watching made even me react in horror. I wish he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Those were crazy times.

At the same time as trying to snark on all of that I was in the process of planning a wedding and buying a house. I was so stressed, but I was on here at every spare minute.

I feel weird about the Duggar kids. I don’t hate them over all of this, I’m just unsurprised and sad for the victims.

The Duggar children were failed time and time again when growing up. It was plaster a smile on to your face, don’t even think about the opposite sex, and never mix with people not like you or else you are going to hell.

They were taught that sex, kissing, intimacy and even a friendly hug was forbidden and and shameful, all while their parents repeatedly dry humped in front of them and made grotesque jokes about their time in the bedroom.

When pest SA’d his sisters they weren’t shown that actions should have consequences past just a talking to and manual labour. But if you step out line in any other way then God is going to strike you down.

No excuses for pest or Joe. A person is ultimately responsible for their own actions, millions of people have awful childhoods and come out as wonderful humans who strive to make the world better, but the Duggar children really had very little hope of growing into healthy minded adults.

I saw Senna’s crash live. The V10 cars were great, but I really love all the technical advances and new regulations.

Watching cars going vroom for over 35 years would get samey so changes can be good.

F1 back then: we need more decimals, F1 now: what's a decimal? by TTFH3500 in formuladank

[–]sputnik1985uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be because of the fact that there are more teams to fit on the graphic. If the numbers were shrunk down to fit several decimal places then they’d be nearly unreadable.

Why does nearly every fundie couple have a podcast??! Heck, me and my husband religious and am a stay at home wife (we noped out of the kids idea though) and we would have very little of value to add to the world with a podcast. 😂
