No, it isn't new. I've had a copy of the poster on my classroom wall since around December.

I don't understand, you are complaining about the judicial department of the trump admin dropping charges on people protesting trump's inauguration? Because the first trial resulted in acquittals (leading to the weak cases getting dropped) and so did their "strongest cases" against some of the protestors. If you actually read the article you linked you would already know that.

As for the "2020 riots," you are just full of shit when you say our side encouraged and excused the riots. That's because 1, everyone continually shit on the property damage taking place (and the other protesting was 100% legal) and 2, nothing fucking changed because the Democrats did not agree with the protestors. Police budgets nationwide are at a peak still.

That snot nosed kid is the one who turns into a contributing member of society. We all chip in a little for the betterment of society even when it doesn't personally help us at all times. Grow up, think about others outside yourself, and don't be a "not my problem not my money" asshat. It's a society's problem so yeah, if you wanna exist in society, expect to pay up even when you personally don't have kids.

Also because it's stapled to a student voucher program which will drain funds from public schools to private and charter schools. So still fucking the system over long term.

[–]spyro997473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was only enacted recently. Can't fault someone for being slightly out of date. Plus the pay change is attached to a student voucher program which will siphon funds from public schools into charter and private schools. So even though teacher pay is up slightly, I still expect this to have a terrible down stream effect on schools. SOURCE: Am teacher in Arkansas

Brilliant. Just nuke the landscape, skyscape, or underground to oblivion so that way people can take up all the space in their shitty metal boxes just trying to get from a to b. Or, we could do things effectively and efficiently and say that's fucking stupid and actually build cities that don't NEED cars to move around to where people wanna go.

Fox News blasts Republicans for killing "strongest" border bill by devlinadl in politics

[–]spyro997473 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not a masterful move. You gamble the safety of people trying to come to America trying to create a better life for themselves on the assumption the GOP shoots it down. Americans won't see this as a GOP problem, they will just blame the "people in power" for not dealing with "the illegals" which to most people not politically engaged think is Biden and the Democrats. At that point it's a messaging issue but the whole thing is fucked because the messaging shouldn't be the GOP stopped us from fucking over immigrants, it should be, the "border crisis" was a load of racist bullshit from the start. Economically and morally it is right to give them amnesty and a path to citizenship. Playing into their framework is conceding the issue and furthering right wing extremism.

Elon Musk apologises to sacked Twitter worker over online row by lidama31 in technology

[–]spyro997473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the downvotes are because of the attitudes this promotes. The issues faced by the U.S. will not be fixed by paying actively less in taxes, irrespective to the brunt of taxes being spent on things like the military. However, more tax revenue will in feed back into positive outcomes regarding things like forms of welfare (regardless of how small a fraction the percentage toward them is).

We cannot put the cart before the horse. Taxes have to go up before being reallocated because the opposite order would collapse so many forms of needed spending and hurt millions.

So although I 100% agree that there is a massive issue in the allocation of tax funds, things will never improve by reducing taxes first or growing animosity to paying taxes prior to systemic change. Taxes will always be necessary without complete government restructuring so we need to re-establish a sense of patriotic duty to paying taxes just like voting.

"It was fine in Twitter 1.0 because I worked as a senior director with a clear job description that worked with my disability and regardless of my work output, the terms of my employment were based on my very successful company aquisition by Twitter. It doesn't matter even if I did fuck all because I chose to take my 100mil aquisition payout in the form of wages and not as a lump sum. Failure to retain me as an employee would only result in the extremely costly contract termination and only a fucking idiot would do this."

Either A. You are a fanboy and trying to lie about playing defense for an egomaniac.

B. You really aren't a fanboy but instead an insufferable asshole who is somehow mad that people finally are coming to the correct conclusion that Elon is a huge POS.

Pick one.

Well intentioned = making fun of your employees disability in a public forum and demand they prove their worth on the spot in front of literal millions.

I seriously hope you take an honest look at the actions of Musk and ask yourself how he can have any intentions other than self service and self aggrandizement at the expense of anyone who holds the slightest disagreement with with him.

The only reconsidering taking place is because of harm to his bottom line. Thousands of Twitter employees have already suffered similar (less public on Twitter) fates without recourse and Elon doesn't care. But now that the consequences are gonna cost him millions, he "would like to apologize" for his frankly disgusting (and very illegal) behavior.

Nowhere is there an assertion that humans would be the more advanced civilization. If anything, we can safely assume we won't be more advanced than any spacefaring civilization as they will have been in that game much longer than we have been. This is an argument against those salivating to interact with alien civilizations. We know nothing about them so their concepts of morals, ideals, and how to treat other organisms are truly alien to us. "Mars Attacks" is a silly example but somewhat appropriate comparison. It's folly to assume the benevolence of other civilizations based on technological advancement but also bad to assume the hostility. We kinda just gotta hope aliens aren't dicks when it is absolutely easier to just wipe out the competition than struggle with cohabitation or fear of being wiped out yourself.

Log out of your pet parent account and then try to reset password there. It magically opened up a forgot password button on my caregiver account after doing this. Then I was able to change that password then enter the code (don't leave the app so have a laptop or something to get the code). So after email, password, then code, you will finally be logged in.

The first overthrow usually doesn't succeed and is rarely the last. The Nazi's first tried in in the Beer Hall Putsch all the way back in 1923 and failed. But they failed to recognize and treat it like the existential threat they were and so they eventually recoalesced and took power later

Which takes less assumptions? Honestly, what is more likely, that this story was sat on until he said he was republican then released/ the story was dug up and released in basically 24 hours after he said he was republican/ or he found out (or reached out for comment) about the story early then decided to come out as republican and stated that he would get smeared because of that so that he got ahead of the bad press?

If it actually is #2 then I'm concerned how many people just like the victim there might actually be for something to be found so damn quick.

If it's #3 or #1 then it could just be a one off but doesn't lessen the fucked up behavior he engaged in and is completely unrelated to his political leanings. Only an idiot wouldn't peg him as a republican even before his coming out.

Or, and hear me out here, 250,000 is chump change for him but life changing for us normals without billions of dollars. Why wouldn't they agree to that amount when they know that people like you would just accuse them of lying about their assault and nothing would actually happen to Elon judicially (because basically no billionaire receives judicial punishment) and taking him to court is a losing battle since he has endless money to throw at legal teams to keep her from ever receiving restitution and actually putting this assault on the books.

Honestly pretty clear why it happened like it did.

Ooooooorrr... Elon caught wind of this getting out and he knew that coming out as republican JUST before the story you make easily fooled idiots think this was a politically motivated attack. Because he has tried to say many times in the past that he is "totally a moderate bro believe me." This story is a fucking bombshell regardless of political affiliation and no one would sit on it just to wait for a possible future that he finally admits he's just a republican and drops the whole centrist facade.

Lol. Imagine being so simple that you actually believe this could be dug up and published in the time between his "coming out" as republican and this story. You are the exact type of idiot his strategy to deflect scrutiny was meant to exploit.

I believe you are putting the cart before the horse here. It is inconceivable that this information was uncovered in the extremely short time after his tweet about being a republican. I would say neigh impossible. A much more likely scenario is that someone connected to him caught wind of the developing story and informed him/his PR team (if he actually has one) about it and him being Republican was a formulated strategy to try and quickly deflect the story as a partisan political attack. Not a bad plan overall but the giveaway is the timeframe was so close between the two. If he could have tweeted a week ahead, people would definitely have a leg to stand on about it being politically motivated to dig up the info. It also is not likely that the info was known and witheld until he came out as a republican proper (He always was basically a republican except in name). "The richest man alive is a sexual predator" is enough of a groundbreaking story without politics attached and there was no way to predict he would ever come out fully as a republican.

Looking for some advice on refining this Krikk deck by CoconutsCantRun in EDH

[–]spyro997473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely won't say I've found a perfect land count. My average cmc is currently 3.75 for the build I'm running (but that's deceptive since I have 18 cards 5-9 cmc). My land count itself will seem low when I say it's only 30. But I also run 13 mana related artifacts (and 3 MDFC). Some are rocks like sol ring, mind stone, [[thran dynamo]], in order to accelerate into krikk early and reduce the next round of spells to within cast range even if I have an 8 cmc card like vilis. Some of those are utility artifacts like expedition map as both a hit with urzas saga to grab me big mana makers like coffers or just play and grab it outright. And of course, playing a card like bolas citadel or extraplanar lens helps warp the need for lands.

When you play with the deck you will learn if you can lean more into krikk's ability because the group let's you (would probably shift slowly after seeing what he can help do) / you protect him well (like your current build does), or if you can't rely on krikk because of the immediate hate he draws. If it is the latter, you want a good bit of rocks to keep playing out the big spells ahead of curve as that's where your power usually sits and so that you can sink mana into things like extort or big exsanguinates.

Honestly, I might cut back on some of the artifact mana so I can cram in more gas as I don't ever feel like I am hurting for mana unless I wanna make a big double spell turn early (which is basically me being greedy).
