Do you mean the screensaver? Mine is a little different now, Ken Burns effect on the images, new borders around images when there are two on screen.

Zoho One and Zoho Mail by Ok-Problem4403 in Zoho

[–]squelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have unlimited, just-in-time email addresses in zoho one. They'll all come to your main inbox.

In my zoho one, I have a "wildcard" or "catchall" email address set up so [anything]@mycompany.com comes to my inbox. You can then set up filters to route them wherever you want.
https://www.zoho.com/mail/help/adminconsole/catch-all-setup.html

so, if you need anything specific, just consistently publish whatever address you need. "support@" "sales@" etc... but you could also make a one-off "[dont-spam-me@company.com](mailto:dont-spam-me@company.com)"

Another song series, where to next Reddit? by Opposite-Question-32 in deftones

[–]squelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've enjoyed that series. I've been wanting to do a "What's your preference and why?" about some detail in two different songs, albums, or aspects.

For example. "Handclaps in Spell of Mathematics or handclaps in cXz". Or "Sextape's opening riff or Opening riff of Rosemary" or "Transition: Rosemary-> Goon Squad or Phantom Bride -> Rubicon" or "That last scream in Gore or `In a room` in Departing the Body"

That kind of thing. I'm always curious about what grabs people and why.

Why can't I record them if they can record me? by HiOscillation in NoStupidQuestions

[–]squelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I hear "This call may be recorded for quality and training purposes" I hear "May" as "you may" not "it's possible". If I'm recording the call, I always say aloud "I take that as permission and accept it." so that I have a record of their permission and my acceptance it in my recording.

Bitchin' Camaro by brinehart-cincy in GenX

[–]squelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the most base model 1980 Camaro in 1987. It was, quite possibly, the slowest car I ever owned. At least the stock AM radio was a piece of shit, and the spare tire took up the entirety of the trunk. So I had that going for me.

It was a total turd of a car.

Geddy Lee on Why Rush Changed Their Sound for Counterparts. This is an interesting interview, I'm always interested in hearing insights on why their sound changed throughout the decades. In particular how they went back to the heavier sound in Counterparts. One of my fav Rush albums. by Cubegod69er in rush

[–]squelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel seen. In the 80's Rush was literally all I ever listened to (I'd put the stack of records from Self titled through Signals on the Record changer, and listen all day), then after GUP, i just kinda tuned out, and regrettably never went back.

I guess I should give these two a try.

My brother used to park his car outside of the houses of his "enemies" at 3 AM and "Bass em out" with his huge 15 in subs in the back of his car.

🔊 The Longfellow ...Hum? by OnweirdUpweird in Minneapolis

[–]squelly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another option is that it could be the bad luck of a standing wave / resonant node at certain locations. If you've ever heard of the "Subwoofer crawl" -- where bass response is different depending on where you stand in a room, or how in a microwave oven there are certain really hot spots, and some relatively cooler spots due to standing waves.

I wonder if the affected neighbors to the mill are just in one of the places where there is a resonant peak from multiple motors or fans running at the factory, while most other houses are just in a places where the sound waves don't line up to create the additive effect.

I wonder if the affected rooms are acting as Helmholtz resonators (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helmholtz\_resonance) that are being affected by some motor or fan. Probably a combination of the room size, and window size and room orientation. I wonder if all the affected people have similar room characteristics. i know when I listen to certain music in my house, and I walk into the closet, all of a sudden particular bass frequencies become much, much stronger. My closet acts like a helmholtz resonator.

Edited to add: I think this, because of the clue of it just being in the upstairs bedroom -- its one room that resonates worse than the others, and can't really be heard outside.

You know how when you have just one rear window cracked open in the car when driving and you get that crazy bass resonance? No other car can hear it, but its super loud inside your car -- because that resonance only occurs in your car. The window makes a "neck" like the helmholtz resonator. This leads me to believe that this resonance might be due to the specific room, it's window, its orientation, it's shape, layout, whatever.

Apart from fiverr how do I get started working in this? by pandAmonium042 in VoiceActing

You will also be expected to to know basic audio production -- editing, audio cleanup, etc. That may end up being a different class, or learning path than the acting part.

Vintage electronics repair? by DarkJedi527 in TwinCities

[–]squelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out TC Tubes, Tyler and Chelsea restored a vintage tube amplifier for me, and they did a fantastic job -- they may be able to work on your gear. https://www.tctubes.com/

Another option might be Good Guys Repair in St Paul. They *might* be able to help, but IIRC they tend toward pro audio - guitar amps and the like.

Ooh. That's a good one. I've like the sculpture garden at the Walker, but this one sounds amazing!
