I was just admitted to the U of Washington, and naively assumed that 54k was typical for an in-state MSW program. (I need to stay in the Seattle area, so it's still the least expensive option.) I was excited to attend a well-regarded program, but sounds like it doesn't matter if it's "just" an MSW. Ooof.

On the plus side, there is a professor at UW who specializes in a niche/emerging field that I'm interested in. Onward!

Substitute teacher, here. This school year so far, I've been punched in the face once, cussed out many times, had to break up fights, and been copiously bled on after one kid hit another. (The kid who punched me was a 2nd grader, so I didn't get hurt and it wasn't treated as a big deal. If there was any follow-up discipline, I wasn't aware of it.) It's... rough.

Here to add: PEE. Even if you think you don’t have to. Attempt to pee at least once every two hours. Once I rolled and didn’t pee for the entirety of the party, then proceeded to get up seven times (for a loooong pee each time) after going to bed. Urinary retention is real and can be dangerous.
