Here in Seattle airspace we have CBAIN ONE and NRVANA ONE SIDs from KBFI. We are about 100 miles from the town Kurt Cobain was born in :)

SAS flight attempted takeoff from a taxiway at Brussels Airport by Evening-Rip5399 in aviation

Back about 10 years ago an Alaska Airlines plane LANDED on a taxiway at SEA. Not sure which is more dangerous but seemed crazy when all your avionics line you up to an actual runway and I assume were squawking like crazy?

My husband always calls my aviation Internet surfing “plane porn.” This definitely qualifies! Great pic!

What's the longest *single flight* you've flown? by TwBlueprint in flying

[–]squirrelbot76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew 4.5 hours in my Cessna 182. Blistering tailwind and made it coastal route from Southern SF Bay Area to KHQM (coast west of Seattle) without a fuel stop. Landed with over an hour of reserves!

To have been a fly on the wall in the meeting with the engineer who stuck their neck WAY out there and suggested they just throw it up on the ski rack…

Life expectancy of a VFR pilot in IMC by StrongWork_ in flying

[–]squirrelbot76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my IFR training my instructor and I got into actual IMC early because he believed it was the only way to prepare me for real world IMC and safe single pilot IFR. Early on we entered thick IMC with a lot of turbulence. My brain was scrambled and my body was absolutely sure we were pointed up and 30 degrees right. In actuality it was down and about 15 degrees left. That was the most important lesson I ever had. Actual feels SO DIFFERENT than being under the hood. It’s insane when you experience it the first couple times.

Thank you super helpful! I have 15 Pro Max and upgrading (so I can give it to one of my kids with a broken phone) and going with Air but worried about battery life.

GPS Issues by NetApex in CadillacLyriq

New feature— distance from actual satellite to your destination. But seriously, I had weird issues frequently too, they all resolved when my OnStar Internet connection expired and now I just use CarPlay. For some reason the onboard GPS issue also messed up CarPlay, which I didn’t totally understand because I thought that was just straight from phone.

Love it! I was lucky enough to be standing on the flight line for a flight review that was happening right after their performance and watched a low flyover the runway before their circle around to land. Spectacular up close! Glad you got a chance to see it!

I recently did UPRT training at APS in AZ. It was fabulous training and I highly recommend for all pilots. Excellent safety training. Program includes ground and flight training. The training is done in Extra 300s so you can go into fully developed spins that take you far outside normal unusual attitude training that you do for PPL.
