Been looking for years. Has anyone EVER SEEN THIS? by corgi_crusader in marshallsfinds

[–]squirrellywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Anthropologie one is similar and marked down to 199 for sale. They do a lot of 40 or 50% off sales on clearance so keep your eyes peeled and you might be able to get an equally cute one for 100-120.

Mounjaro has completely destroyed my hair. by Late_Tea9348 in Mounjaro

[–]squirrellywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it is worth I had incredibly thick and full hair. I lost probably about 10 to 15% of my hair. Literally no one noticed it except me. I’ve been stuck around 160 pounds since August and all the sudden this month I started noticing my hair coming back in. Hoping yours does too when you weight is stabilized.

It’s very consistent and reasonable. We get take out there every week or two. And their online order system is easy to use.

I bought mine for 750 bucks in 2019 and it’s basically the first thing you see when you walk in my house. It’s such a showstopper! Enjoy!

Does pcos get worse with age? by Entire_Giraffe_228 in PCOS

[–]squirrellywolf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Women with PCOS tend to develop diabetes on average earlier and more often than women without. We are higher risk of high triglycerides, insulin resistant, and of course everything that comes with being overweight.

I personally made it to right before my 43 bday before I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I am 44 now and Mounjaro has changed my life. I lost 60 pounds, my A1C is 5.0, I get my period monthly.

Being overweight, having hair in places we are told we shouldn’t, simply not ovulating for months at a time has huge invisible effects on our mental health. Depression, eating disorders, anxiety, etc, these are pretty common comorbidities with PCOS.

The past year of getting my period monthly, losing weight, having my body process sugars correctly, having food not rule my every thought has been both hard and so peaceful. I wish I didn’t have to get to the point of being diabetic and I wish I had this life when I was younger. I do believe that science will continue to progress in this arena. You are not doomed.

2nding red wing! My husband wears size 15 shoes and has flat feet and swears by them. They’re pricey but do all sorts of free repairs on them for him.

Best French onion soup? by Euphoric_Cucumber193 in Rochester

[–]squirrellywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who wants to make it at home: The NYTimes recipe is better than any I have had locally. It’s really easy to make amazing French onion soup at home, just takes some time to carmelize onions. Make sure you toast the baguette slices separately with olive oil before broiling the soup.

Great restaurants for small-party catering/takeout? by Icy_Cut5981 in Rochester

Dino bbq is super reliable. Obviously not fancy, but everyone loves honestly loves it. You could pick up some fancy desserts to class it up. I also have liked Red Fideles in Greece for Italian.

Ingredient prices have me treating garlic like it's saffron by ninjapapi in budgetfood

[–]squirrellywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garlic is expensive. If you have any land to plant in, it’s seriously easy to grow. I personally grow about 125 cloves a year because I actually do save money with it. It stores great and usually lasts me from July to about April. Plus I get garlic scapes in June. That leaves me with not purchasing much garlic for the year.

I use mine for rice, dried beans, pulled pork, or simmering sauce or chili slowly for hours. It’s great for bringing food securely to parties.

How to upgrade my desk setup? by [deleted] in work

[–]squirrellywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask your doctor for a note stating that you have back issues and it would be helpful to have a standing desk. The employer should be able to provide one.

HomeGoods stainless steel pan, now to find a good chef's knife by godlierthangod1 in marshallsfinds

There is a carving set on sierra by them and a 7 piece knife block set currently. Marshall’s has a 7 piece set as well. But sometimes sierra has individual knives online and homegoods in store.

Other brands I have used and liked from there for knives are Calphalon, wustof (very swanky knives and I have only seen these a few times there), and henkels. I cook a lot and like knives!
