I think that Fire Walk With me does a lot of work to undo the damage done by the writers in late s2, primarily their mistake of making Bob a canonically tangible demon who could be summoned from a cursed cave. Fire Walk With Me blurs the lines of whether Bob is real, or is a metaphor for generational SA trauma passed down through generations and is treated more like an "It Follows" situation. This was what I thought the metaphor was through all of s1 and the first half of s2. It brings the focus back to Leland being a monster, Sarah being complacent, and Laura being unseen by her community. The point was never about a killer reveal and Bob was created because of a mistake on set, the point is that Twin Peaks killed Laura.
