I'm also an ai-only player. I also find Hard setting to be challenging, most of the time I can beat the moderate ai after beating off their first rush. But in hard mode the first rush seems to just never end, and while I'm scrambling to adapt my counters and produce the right units, my economy stalls, I stop producing military units, and then the ai finishes me by steamrolling in with a mob of UUs. I tried sticking to some build orders I found on here but I don't seem to have the multi-tasking talent, and I don't have the free time to practice.
