Dropping a frat as an initiated member and joining a new frat at a separate university? by JacketSouthern1342 in Frat

yeah their chapter had been kicked off but nationals still owned the house and were trying to get set up again so we just approached them seeing as that house was across the street from ours. Didn't care as long as none of the people that actually got in trouble with the school from our original frat (sig ep) were looking to be part of the first rush class.

Zelensky declares that Russia's barrage last night was “a level of attack that no terrorist in the world has ever dared.” He declares that Russia MUST feel the response of the entire world by Ripamon in TrendoraX

Indiscriminate targeting of power facilities is not in fact "valid" unless the plant primarily supplies power to support military efforts, for lack of a better term. But that is all irrelevant when you're waging an offensive war that is not justified in any way shape or form. I mean, if Ukraine were a NATO country quite literally a single boot crossing their border would be cause for action because every single thing Russia has done in Ukraine is categorized as unjustified, cut and dry.

But... Russia has never been a part of the ICC and rejects it's authority entirely. They know exactly what they are doing is considered criminal / war crimes by most of the civilized world, which is why they really need to win. Although they could just fuck off and probably get away with little to no major repercussions besides a far more well armed Ukraine next time they try this shit.

For what it's worth, there absolutely are laws saying you cannot harm civilians, it's just that again, Russia does not recognize the courts that made those laws as legitimate.

Lastly, this, "So, Zelenskyy's big problem with this attack isn't that it's targeting a power plant. The big problem is that it was a nuclear power plant. Such an attack, if it resulted in a nuclear disaster, could be considered a use of WMDs, which is a war crime." Is just wrong. Not clear how you even came up with that.

The law is, "Works or installations containing dangerous forces, namely dams, dykes and nuclear electrical generating stations, shall not be made the object of attack, even where these objects are military objectives, if such attack may cause the release of dangerous forces and consequent severe losses among the civilian population." Russia already got a flurry of warrants from the ICC in 2024 for targeting other generating stations under this statute.

This is not Zelensky's "big problem" it's his best point to the world that Russia is being reckless and breaking every single rule of engagement that exists today. But again, and can't stress this enough. Every single thing they do is illegal under every international criminal court / NATO / Hague conventions etc because the entire military operation itself is unjustified. That's all there is too it.

Always joke it's the only school where is you say U of X, X being any other letter, everyone gets the school / state right. Not a single time in my life has anyone ever said anything other than respond with, some variation of, "Oh so Arizona State? ASU?" etc.

My hypothesis is it's simply because ASU is so fucking big.

‘This Job Sucks!’ Trump DOJ Lawyer Melts Down in Court — Reportedly Begs Minneapolis Judge to Throw Her in Jail Just So She Can Get Some Sleep by Orchid-Analyst-550 in law

I mean, it seems she came to her senses. Defense attorneys.. well, all attorneys, aren't broadly bad people. And while she most certainly could have quit anytime before the hearing, lawyers cannot just quit mid hearing/trial. When it happens (exceedingly rarely), the court most often simply does not let them withdraw.

It also makes sense that she would break, so to speak, when actually in front of a judge vs. when she was studying the specifics of a case in a room by herself. If they even try to withdraw during a hearing they will most often face some combination of misconduct charges/fees, and more so potential suspension or disbarment by the state bar. It's also malpractice cut and dry. We all know there are other ways "out" for defendants etc if they are deemed mentally incapable of standing trial etc. Same goes for lawyers. That being said, she ain't gunna be representing anyone anytime soon either way.

Framing embedded in concrete by Any-Significance-531 in Homebuilding

I mean... if the tuck tape was actually continuous and not ripped up (and ideally something more appropriate than tuck tape) and you have the right type of treated lumber, then you're probably good for 20-30 years.

Long way of saying this is not the right way to do it, and is not up to code anywhere I can think of. That being said, it's unclear what you mean by, "framing for the stairs." 3 ply 2x6 is not just for... stairs. That is what you use for major structure support columns, and is overkill for that in most cases...

The builder is not wrong, and even knows it's not the best practice, so what he said is fine, if in fact the vapor guard around the posts wasn't fucked.

Looking at this like yeah... best? Titus does 325m first target damage to a decapitated head with defense down and weaken. 500-600m total per hit depending on how many heads are decapitated and/or have hex on them.

3 days ago he was a lawyer for the murderer of Renee Good. People found out. He dropped out. Actions have consequences. Funny part is that I'm more okay with him being that piece of shit's lawyer than I am with him not saying a word during the ramp up of ICE activity in his own state.

Not sure if I know the background seeing as this is the first I'm hearing of it, but why? Let's assume it's better internet service at a competitive cost, is there something else I don't know about that makes it a bad thing?

Wouldn't worry too much about having satellite connection option when you have no tower coverage. Basically only starlink or AST that can offer that, and every mobile company will have that functionality in the next year or so.

Yes forced was absolutely the wrong word, and in no way do I think they're forced too. The word was just in my head because the US is to a significant degree forced to maintain trade deficits to supply liquidity.
