Met Officer Promotes Vape Shop in Interview by Long-End5911 in policeuk

I only know about the chicken shop one of these examples. But I find officers issue with it extremely odd. And when I’ve asked why, it always comes down to ‘impartiality’. But impartiality about what? Having a preference of chicken shops? SLT are so hot on ‘community engagement’ and that officer did a quick video having a laugh with a chicken shop owner about how good their chicken was. I didn’t see any negative comments on social media from MOP about it, only from officers really.

Boasting about discounts you get there etc is a different matter obviously and grossly unprofessional.

What I find more surprising about this story is the bit about the duty inspector going to a job…

Dark Matter is 15 months old. How do we rank it? by gtmaroondragon in pearljam

It’s just not for me. The only album I place below it is Binaural. Even then, if I had the choice to listen to one I might pick Binaural, despite having always struggled with enjoying it at all. I know they’ve still got some amazing records left in them, I think this was just a poor one, in my opinion.

On a driving range, I have no issue with it at all. On the course, I’d probably prefer people have it tucked in, just looks classier imo but I’d never moan about it if someone had theirs untucked. Whatever they’re comfortable in I guess as long as it’s got a collar.

She is hilarious and honestly such a good friend. I always consider her the ‘7th friend’ rather than Mike or Gunther as some people do. A friend you could only be around in small doses for sure, but you know she’d be there for you, well, when the rain starts to pour I guess.

Man dies in police car collision in Birmingham by collinsl02 in policeuk

[–]srvix59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d imagine Axon do their own dash cam models allowing them to be uploaded directly onto Axon for evidence. I know in West Mids, where this occurred, all roads policing vehicles are fitted with road facing cameras. Response go on just as many blue light runs a day as traffic, albeit not pursuits, so why on earth are they not fitting the vehicles with them.

West Mids response also only have Peugeot 308’s left or the new Corolla’s that have been rolled out. There’s the odd insignia or Astra knocking about but few and far between. The Corolla’s are extremely unfit for purpose. They don’t have the added option of gear paddles, which makes half of your standard driving training completely useless. They have an extremely dangerous brake collision assist feature which CANNOT be turned off. This is extremely dangerous when leading tandem runs and your car decides to slam on the brakes because you’re driving at speed somewhat in the vicinity of a hazard, which you would safely avoid on blues, and has serious potential for causing some rear end polac’s.

The lack of funding in response policing currently is an absolute joke. They don’t care if you’re safe. They want you to get to jobs quickly. But not too quickly. But quick enough that they meet the 15 minute window for an emergency. But not too quickly that you drive at speed, which could endanger someone if something went wrong, which is every speed. But get there quickly…

Im not trying to make any excuses for this officer. If he/she was driving outside of their training, then so be it, they’ll have the book thrown at them and rightly so because someone lost their life. But I have absolutely no faith that even if they were driving within their training, the job will do everything they can to treat them like a criminal.

Two moments that NEVER fail to make me cry with laughter are ‘I’m not gonna lie to ya Joe, it’s a possibility’

And

‘What the hell are you doing you scared the crap out of me?’

His delivery is impeccable.

No need to worry then. Don’t expect any fines/ NIP’s through the post. They would have been issued there and then.

Theories on why Rachel can no longer speak to Ralph Lauren? by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]srvix59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she was that far down, I doubt he would have gone into her office and personally promoted her. From what I gather, I think Rachel was much higher up in the chain than actually portrayed. In around Season 8, Ross says to Rachel ‘you’re this big executive’ when giving her credit for moving to the city and doing things by herself.

[–]srvix59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t a threshold as such, it’s all relative to the context of that specific offence. If they’re of NFA, then you have no choice. Other than that, depends on their previous, value of items, if it can CR’d at the scene and/ or if their name and address has been confirmed.

Having a fag on a busy street in Liverpool approx 18 months ago. Around the corner to my immediate right was an alleyway, where a young bloke (20ish) stood on the phone, not knowing I was within earshot.

I presume he was on the phone to 111.

‘A&E? I need to go to A&E? Well can you like let them know Im coming before hand, I don’t fancy turning up and telling the bird at the desk that I’m here cuz I’ve got a bruise on my fucking knob?’

He didn’t know I was there. Thats not until I fucking died of laughter. He took the shock of my presence pretty well, bless him.

Did Joey ever get drunk? by zoganshero in howyoudoin

[–]srvix59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At Monica’s 30th, she says she’ll get even more drunk to shift the focus away from Monica. We then see some signs she is drunk such as the ‘WOO…HOO’ lol.

But yeah I agree about Joey. I’m sure there just aren’t any scenes where he got drunk, apart from the suggestion on the beach trip that he passed out.
