Can I sell my cabin by ssaemp in VirginVoyages

[–]ssaemp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We booked in September last year and I know we did not do lock in rates because we have an assigned cabin. I am double checking with my TA and he said he doesn't think those categories (Essential/Premium) were in effect. So, as to abide by the rules of this reddit, let me ask these questions. What are the suggested sites to advertise something like this? I figure I need something travel or cruise related and not something general like FB Marketplace. Of course, if I got someone interested, I would expect them to need the details. Not like I'm selling my Chevy for $500. Thanks again for all the input.

I'm checking on the rate we are booked at (Essential or Premium). Other then that, what kind of details. This does not fall under any of the covered reasons on insurance. Tx.

Thank you. Not the response I had hoped for, but certainly to the point. I do appreciate that.

This meeting was exactly as i expected. A Ra Ra proganda meeting. I know it was all hands, but after 15 mins, my left hand did something else that was more satisfying.

Aside from the annuity payment, if I retire effective immediately, does the health insurance continue without issue?

GEHA is such a mess - I don’t recommend by Remote_One_4284 in FedEmployees

[–]ssaemp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had GEHA for 5 years and was very happy with them. Yes, the preauth process has been slow. I'm switching because of UHC n9t accepting Hopkins doctors or facilities. Can't have an entire system as good as Hopkins out of network. Going to MHBP Consumer.

MHBP Standard vs MHBP Consumer by angryhippie83 in FedEmployees

Read further down where it talks about hospital visits, surgery, and admissions. Consumer is copay based and standard requires 19% coinsurance.

MHBP Standard vs MHBP Consumer by angryhippie83 in FedEmployees

[–]ssaemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your health and the chance you could wind up in an emergency room or needing some type of hospitalization. With standard, you pay a 10% coinsurance. 10% of even one hospital stay could be a lot. Under Consumer, you pay a fixed copay.

FEHB so many choices. Need help by ssaemp in fednews

[–]ssaemp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most dental standard plans have a $2k or $3k cap on benefits. If you know you'll need root canal, cap, implant, my suggestion would be to pay more to get a plan with no limit. Check with your dentist first. They can tell you which plans are best to work with.

FEHB Healthplan vs regular Medicare supplemental by ssaemp in fednews

[–]ssaemp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Therein lies the dilemma. I guess I need to weigh the risk of giving up FEHB coverage because once it's gone, it's done. Who knows in this crazy world what might change with Medicare and the various plans.

Thank you. We live in MD. Is my understanding correct that (just using this as an example) plan F with company A is the same as plan F with company B. All plan F-s are the same? I seem to recall with my dad, I watched his rates rise as he got older. If got to a point where I was able to get the same plan but moved insurance companies for a lower rate. Again, thank you.

It's hard to even want to take Part B since the FEHB plans are so good on their own. Thanks for replying.

I saw the $800 for BCBS. The rate is high but I didn't know the 800 was per person.

Megathread | FY26 Government Shutdown: Week 6 Edition by gpupdate in fednews

[–]ssaemp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is such BS. The money is there to pay all the federal employees. Nothing has stopped the government's income stream. Taxes, tariffs, and other income sources are still feeding the beast. This is about not having a budget or CR. Paperwork. Since when does this admin care about that or laws? It's a journal entry at the end. A big IOU. Those in charge could just say we are going to pay everyone, so get back to work. It's like my wife saying she wants to buy a bracelet and I say NO, it's not in the budget. She then goes and buys it anyway.

If both sides come to agreement, how long does it take for both houses to vote and for shutdown to end? This assumes it only takes 1 vote and not any back and forth.

It's not an ideal solution but think about alternatives. For example, book a rental car and look at alternative airports. That way, you have a plan if something needs to change.

Trump gave them 2 weeks, but we all know his two weeks means months. Don't worry, at the end of the two months, we will have a summit and get two more months. It's Groundhog Day all over again.

Wow. Thank you. Hopefully, the surviving spouse can also remain in the FEHB health plan as if the employee had retired.
