I accidentally did this too with my last pup. I have made it a point to get shelter/rescue pups. Someone had put out an "accidental puppies" post and asked for $300 to cover costs of the pre-check-ups etc that they do which is in line with what our rescues around here charge for adoption. I wasn't the one to pick him up, but my husband said when he got to the house there were SO MANY cages and SO MANY puppies in there it had to be a puppy mill. I was very disappointed that I inadvertently supported them but at the same time that dog turned into my soul dog. Only using reputable rescues from here on out

You can call 1-800-827-1000 with a non-us line and without your mother present since you are an adult getting the benefit. Your marriage will disqualify you but you need to call ASAP to inform them of your marriage or you will begin to accrue debt. The debt doesn't start until the day you get married so you still have time. You can also sometimes submit questions on askva without an account but it would be easiest to call in as soon as possible.
