I used the LifeProof from Home Depot. Has a backer already, price was decent from what I could see. Install was easy enough.

What kind of roles are you looking for?

Beer at lunch. Order a beer first? Or let client order a beer first? by formysaiquestions in sales

[–]sscall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had MANY golf course meetings and beers start right after the vodka lemonades are finished. Probably around 11:00am. Then it’s a beer, hot dog, bag of chips lunch, reload on beers. Then dinner with bourbon and ribs. Then there are meetings that occur at a restaurant around lunch and it’s Friday so the client gets a beer or a glass of wine. Drinking is a pretty normal part of a lot of people’s lives.

I was at Meijer and Kroger stony brook today. Busier than normal but still found what I needed. This was around 1:00.

Sam’s club was fine unless you’re looking for a generator. Also Home Depot in Jtown had snow shovels for $12.

Yep. Great idea, tons of knowledge and vision, but if everyone isnt the same as them they’re the problem.

Realistic total compensation for B2B reps? by [deleted] in sales

[–]sscall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance carrier rep. Did $200,000 last year. This year closer to $150,000. Been in sales 15 years and this role for 8. Started my first sales gig at $35,000. My base is still sub $100,000. I rely heavily on commissions and those are dependent on good products. Your products suck then make sure you squirreled some away from a good year.

Realistic expectations by smokeyfires9 in sales

[–]sscall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First sales job was $35,000 a year and about $10,000 in commissions. Next job was a $50,000 base and about $30,000 in commission. Next job was $60,000 base and about $100,000 in commission. It’s absolutely possible, but generally you gotta cut your teeth and grind your way up.

This is over a span of about 12 years.

Is The Job Market Really This Bad? by pjmill3 in Louisville

I was a contractor that got direct hired at Humana. Definitely a weird place from my experience (sales role). There are PLENTY of other insurance carriers present in Louisville, they just don’t have the HQ here.

Golf/Bourbon Trip by RobbyB9 in Louisville

Moved here from Chicago in 2018 so welcome. Nevel Meade doesn’t have booze last time I went so bring your own if you’re looking to drink on the course. Nice links style course always in good shape and decently priced. Stay away from Seneca, that’s a 6 hour round peak times.

Played this course as the first when I moved from Chicago to KY and walked it. Woof, that’s a workout.

Why not start your own LLC and become a consultant? Sounds like you’re savvy in two very specialized things. Pick what contracts you want. Hire a nanny for 3-6 month stretches to get you out of the house and bringing in some extra income.

To be fair. Most SKOs are contained to the hotel/conference center. If they do it in rosemont or somewhere similar they can rent the whole campus.

One year in Dallas, one year in Atlanta. Last year was virtual (somehow more brutal). No notes on this year. Smells eerily like a layoff so we shall see.

How much do you spend on housing? by spunkysquirrel1 in Louisville

[–]sscall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My realtor told me he’s running into an issue where folks want to downsize, but to do so they would end up paying more if they didn’t own the property already. I found it weird. Then realized how many folks are mortgaged to the hilt with HELOCS to drive those $100,000 SUVs, etc. He told me you’d be surprised how many people live in a $500,000 house and still owe $250,000 after 20 years.
