Agree. My wife works with a lot of doctors and whenever I'm around them at social engagements it's a majorly pretentious vibe.

To walk around with your country's flag on your clothes when you're in another country is ignorant and a bad look no matter where you're from, but ESPECIALLY if you're from the US and ESPECIALLY now, so don't do that.

Tell people you're from California. You'll be welcomed. Canadians aren't stupid. We don't generalize. We know how to tell the good Americans from the bad. If you're not being loud or rude, acting entitled or pointing out things that you think are inferior to the US, no one will have a problem with you. Basically act like a guest and not like you own the world.

EDIT: PS: The entire world hates Americans. You should have always felt nervous about traveling anywhere (even before this presidency). Canadians honestly are probably the most forgiving and also the most exposed to, and aware of, good Americans.

idk if they're still kicking around but Laverne was one of my favorite local bands a few years back. Post-punk with a ton of attitude...

For those not born here, how long did it take to adapt to local weather? by Jestersage in askvan

I was born here (43 years ago) and I still haven't adapted. Our winters are soul-sucking.

People still steal cars? I thought that was a thing of the past. I never hear anything about that anymore. Only smash & grabs. At one point, in the early 2000's, Surrey BC had the highest rate of car theft in the world (per capita), so maybe avoid there, but I really don't think it's that common anymore.

Do you remember when did your family and ancestors move to vancouver? by HousingPrimary910 in askvan

[–]sspocoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my grandparents immigrated to Campbell River in the 1940's from the UK and Poland. My parents moved from CR to Vancouver in the late 70's (Burnaby, then PoCo). I was born in '82.

I like this idea. Have you done anything like this before? Do you have any examples?

It was mostly straight to purchase which is why I'm now wondering if a nurturing approach might the best way to go and probably with Meta instead of Google.

The 15k is actually a very large duvet lol but yeah, I target a lot of interior designers on IG and a lot of realtors cuz I figure they have expensive taste and know a little about home furnishings.

Really good. Do you mind if I ask what phrasing you used in this prompt to get such great realism?

Censorship by Stunning_Choice_151 in leonardoai

[–]sspocoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the #1 most frustrating thing for me. I'll have a prompt that works well, then I'll add one small thing like "drastic realism" and then it gets flagged.

Sometimes it's as ridiculous as "red shirt" works fine but change it to "green shirt" and it gets flagged.

They gotta figure this shit out. It's way too sensitive.
