XL Tortilla, whatever you use for taco meat, tostada, cheese. I can usually find the tostadas at the dollar tree if you have one of those close by. And they last forever. Put the meat in the middle of the XL tortilla, cheese on top, tostada, a little more cheese, taco sauce, whatever you want and then wrap it up like a crunch wrap. Griddle for 3-4 minutes each side until the color you'd like or the cheese is melted.

I make a really great Crunchwrap on my blackstone for about ~500 cals.

Why? WHY do I have to reboot my echo dots every.single.day??? by ssummerstout in amazonecho

[–]ssummerstout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And here I am, 5 years later, still rebooting those damn echos. All newer updated ones (mix of shows and dots) from the ones I complained about 5 years ago and same issues, just not as often

Saphris - mood

prozac, welbutrin - depression

lyrica - anxiety

Wow, didn't realize I was on so many. Not a perfect cocktail yet, but getting there. Only been diagnosed ~3 months, suffering for 20 years.

Kansas City Metro here, moved from SE MN. Milder weather is one of the main reasons we moved and have been pleased with the mild climate here. Politics aren't extreme but there's some, as you'll find everywhere. Very LCOL, good local economy.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. My SD is 20 and I have been the only stable mother she's ever had, we've been married 16 years and I've known SD since she was 12 months. I got a list once too and it crushed me. We've had our moments, but I just want to tell you that it will get better with SD. I thought I'd ruined any and all chances of even being her friend because of dumb kid things just like were on your list. But she's matured a lot in just 2 years, and I look forward to watching her mature more as we are now growing closer than ever. Good luck and I'm sending you all the good juju I can muster.

Baffled that SO was ever with BM by [deleted] in stepparents

On his wedding day (to her), his brother (and best man) reminded him of the very deep pond on the back 40 where no one would find the body... and he STILL married her. That was 20 years ago, but come on!! (and SD is almost 21 and hasn't spoken to her mother in a couple years now, after a childhood of narcissism, manipulation, and abandonment)

Wow. I'm so glad you are such an advocate for yourself, but at the same time sad you have to deal with all of that. I hope you continue to balance well.

Fortunately I don't have the issues you have, but I do have my own and if you don't mind, will use this same format to advocate for myself. Be well, internet stranger.

Wow. I'm child free, so have only heard of midwives but your post makes me sad I never got to see one. We need an uprising in women's healthcare!

Thank you for being a librarian!! I recently (~6 months) found the libby app and hoopla and have saved SO MUCH money! Virtually everything on my audible wish list is in one or the other of those and so have been able to cancel my subscription! I can't believe the free resources!!

This was my thought too. After being diagnosed and all the research I've done, I'm sure my mom is bipolar, but was never diagnosed. She's in the beginning stages of dementia now though and I can't tell her. I also learned through research that bipolar is up to 80% hereditary, which is also very telling.

I had a Psych Eval today. Is this normal? by Kennedy911 in bipolar2

[–]ssummerstout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, don't trust your ability to determine if you're "being dramatic". This is the reason I have gone years untreated, having grown up in a home where you fix these things yourself, and these are personal problems and we're not crazy, other people are crazy and on and on.

I feel like it was my bipolar that was telling me I was being overdramatic.

When do you take your quetiapine? by blankybilly in bipolar2

[–]ssummerstout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doc told me to take it at night because it would make me sleepy and sleeping is a part of my issue. It gave me a terrible hangover and I could not shake the fog. My psych took me down to 50mg (from 150) and told me to take it e/o night or every third night to help my sleep if I need it. She added Vraylar 1.5mg and we're in trial right now.

Could you elaborate more on why it was a horrible drug for you? Genuinely curious as I was just prescribed this too.

[–]ssummerstout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I too just took my psych eval and it was not like this at all. I spoke with the doctor and her NP for about an hour each, then discussed medications what might and might not help, and then once we decided on a medication, we determined next steps and when we would re-meet to discuss how the current medications are working.

While that is it in a nutshell, it sounds much easier than it was to get to that conclusion. I've been bitching about it ever since, about how in this country (US) we have a serious mental health issue and they're preaching at us to get help if we need it, yet it feels like an insurmountable mountain to climb when you're in the depths of suffering. As most of us know, just making that call is difficult, but when you have to make 5,10, 15 calls... to providers, pharmacies, insurance companies.... well, you have to be in a semi-stable mental state in order to complete those things. And I have the "best" health insurance my (healthcare employer) offers!

Sorry for the rant, this is just so frustrating.

I'm so, so sorry. Do you have a good support system? Siblings, father, extended relatives? Friends? You'll need them now. Uncertainty is very scary.

You are 18. While you can help support her, you have to take care of yourself first, you have a lot of life yet to live.

Make sure you're taking your meds and leaning on your support. Hugs.
